Originally wrote to hsbc in March 2010 to reclaim ppi. Got declined and referred to fos in July 2010. adjudicator agreed and advised hsbc to pay up in November 2010 but they still refused. Was passed to obudsman who didn't seem to be doing anything with it.
After reading on this site that somebody had written to the ceo of hsbc I decided to email them, also putting in the complaint about the poor service I received when closing the loan.
Within 2 weeks of sending the email, I have had a letter from the obudsman saying hsbc will settle and that they will also pay back the ppi on 2 other loans which i didn't even know i had plus £50 compensation. In total just over £10,000!!!!!:T
Thank you so much
WOW :T:j Well done and Congratulations!

Debenhams / GE Money / Santander / Genworth Finance Update......
Debenhams card taken out in 2002, complained to Santander late April which was rejected within a week, FLA totally useless, Santander rejected FOS approach, FOS writes to Finance Insurance Co. Ltd (Genworth) the underwriter on 30th. June, Genworth replies that they are not responsible!!!!
So in summary, Debenhams not responsible, Santander the agent not responsible and Genworth the underwriter not responsible!! It's liKe pass the ppi parcel and see who gets the problem when the music stops. Back to the FOS next week and see what happens next! It's beginning to feel like a cartel, a closed shop where no one is to blame and everyone wins except the humble customer
MESSAGE TO SELF - DO NOT EVER TAKE OUT STORE CARDS OR SUPERMARKET CARDS 'CAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE OR WHO YOU ARE PAYING
Better news, HSBC have been very good and settled my claim, so just this one left now0 -
