    Hi all
    so im new :o
    my story-
going through my finances with a fine tooth comb 2 months ago while struggling financially, i noticed PPI on 2 RBS credit cards which were like £75 each per month- they are both large credit balances and i have had 1 10years and other around 6years-
so a LOT Of PPI payments
i scrutinised the paperwork and had it cancelled and then noticed that i am self employed it was completely usless anyway as cannot claim even if i did know i had it and wanted it etc
So followed MSE instructions wrote to RBS - received a response within 2 weeks saying they were looking into claim and investigating and to allow them 4 weeks-
then a second letter near end of 4 weeks saying needed more time which takes the 2 14/07/2011 2 days from now-
    and no response yet-
wondering if anyone has any advice if i have not received anything by the 14th as to what my next move should be????
    :T
    any help kindly appriciated
Hi there, you need to telephone for updates while this is ongoing, hopefully you wont have much longer to wait.

  • Hi

I had 2 loans with Natwest in which both sets of PPI were added upfront to my loan. Could someone shed some light on front loaded PPI - what should I be claiming, the lump sum added or something in addition to this?

    Thanks!

All you need for a redress,is the ppi back to date that you have paid for each loan,if the loans are still running the ppi total will be taken off your balance reducing the monthly payment by the ppi monthly amount.

If the loans are settled, you will have received a rebate of the insurance, this will be taken off your win,and the ppi total, less the rebate will go back to you.

If you took one loan to repay the second, then ask for both of these to be looked at together,as you will have had the ppi left over from the first loan put onto the second (plus the ppi for this loan!)
less the rebate for early settlement.

You ask for the loans to be reset as if ppi had not been put on in the first place.
    Does this help?.

    Thank you for your reply.

    I'm still confused though :(

I took a loan out for £10K in 2001 (£2300 PPI charged). Then in 2003 I took out a consolidated loan for £22700 (£5455 PPI charged)

My accounts went into arrears and I now pay via CCCS. I assumed that if found in my favour I would get the two PPI amounts totalling £7755 plus the statutory 8% (£620.40) refunded to my outstanding loan, thus wiping £8375.40 off my balance?

    Is this not correct?

I've just received this email from Natwest/RBS in response to my email requesting he live up to the 10 day response promise he made on 9th June.

I have been advised that our response should be sent to you by the end of the week, including further comments on the rebate. (rebates of £1.75 & £4.12 for cancelled PPI which I am, in fact, still paying).

I appreciate some time has passed since you first contacted us. I'm sorry for the delay and for the stress this has caused you. (Don't remember saying I was stressed lol)

Thank you for your continued patience.

    Yours Sincerely

Does this sound positive??? Or am I just in cloud cuckoo land? It's been with them since last November. I do hope so as my boiler has packed up and need to finance a new one. If they are repaying I will have a warm feeling inside and hot water on the outside....:rotfl::rotfl:

Hopefully a positive outcome to this.
    Good luck.;)
