    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Just an update. Halifax Customer Services rang me (only an hour after I emailed the CEO, so not bad). The lady said that mine are being looked at now but they have to go through different departments and be investigated properly etc. She did also say that my credit card one is now with the calculations team. I take it that means good news?? :)

She is on holiday for 2 weeks from Friday but as soon as she gets back she will check the progress of my complaints and ring me with an update. She was a really nice lady.

I did ask about HBOS following Barclays and paying out to all complaints that were put on hold due to JR. She denied this and said they have to investigate them all properly because they get quite a few complaints where people have never even had PPI on their accounts.

After Virgin MBNA last week knocked back the FOS' upheld decision (which has now gone an Ombudsman for final review -first complained to MBNA in May 2010) I received a letter from the Co -Op yesterday.

I complained just six weeks ago a they made an offer of the PPI premiums, the interest paid on them plus 8% so a tidy sum of around £7k!

This will pay off my Co-Op card and most of another card.

Thanks to all on this site as I really was at such a very low point in my life and felt hunted by these people as I was in a very difficult space and couldn't really see a way out but this site taught me to never give up as there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I am not celebrating the payout and will just pay it off and move to the next one. I want to become debt free and will never forget the low point I was at and will never ever get into that situation again.

    Keep faith.

Wise :T:j well done and Congratulaitons

    Booooooooo to HSBC!!
I called them last week (Service Quality Department) regarding my claims that were sent on 9th May 2011. They don't know their !!!! from their elbow!
The FIRST person I spoke to said that my case was on hold due to the JR????? !!!!!!??????
When I politely pointed out that my letter was sent AFTER the JR, she was then flustered and passed me on to someone else. This person them stated that they had received my letters and they have now got 16 weeks to deal with them (correct!) so it would be 16 weeks from TODAY's DATE when I would receive a response (wrong!!)
When I again, very politely, pointed out that they had already had 8 weeks and according to the FSA extension they had 16 weeks from the receipt of the letter (according to the dates) that would surely mean that I would be waiting another 8 weeks, NOT 16 weeks?????
    SILENCE..........
Oh yeah, you're right so you will hear from us by 19th August!!! OMG what a bunch numpties!!
I cannot believe that a company such as HSBC would fail to brief their staff so dismally that the customer has to inform them of what is going on...........its utter incompetence!! Especially as I called their "complaints department" not some bod in a call centre.
    Ridiculous!!
Not holding my breath for 19th August but I have reference numbers for the calls that I have made so will be chasing with intent!!

Good luck to anyone else with HSBC.................lets harass them into submission!!

Your right there lol, you tell them what for though and put them in their place, good for you!:T and fingers crossed.

    Hi all
    so im new :o
    my story-
going through my finances with a fine tooth comb 2 months ago while struggling financially, i noticed PPI on 2 RBS credit cards which were like £75 each per month- they are both large credit balances and i have had 1 10years and other around 6years-
so a LOT Of PPI payments
i scrutinised the paperwork and had it cancelled and then noticed that i am self employed it was completely usless anyway as cannot claim even if i did know i had it and wanted it etc
So followed MSE instructions wrote to RBS - received a response within 2 weeks saying they were looking into claim and investigating and to allow them 4 weeks-
then a second letter near end of 4 weeks saying needed more time which takes the 2 14/07/2011 2 days from now-
    and no response yet-
wondering if anyone has any advice if i have not received anything by the 14th as to what my next move should be????
    :T
    any help kindly appriciated

    Hi there

Its possible they too have extra time to deal with the complaints due to the backlog, but I would give them a ring for the quickest way of asking for an update, they will be able to let you know over the phone.
Wishing you luck on your reclaiming, please let us know how you get on and keep chasing them.;)

    Hiya

Thanks for posting your update, and yes in my opinion that is obviously an upheld complaint, so well done!:T:beer:

Good luck on HBOS as well, I understand some have made complaints about PPI, and they were not sold it in the beginning, so I can see what she is saying.;)

My update with Lloyds TSB >
credit card I sent claim with my statement showing PPI - they wrote back that i dont have PPI on my account i rang them, told them that my statment cant be lying as it clearly shows PPI premuims being charged, they have now reopen my complaint and wrote to me it will take 16 weeks. At least they looking at it now I have my fingers crossed.
Loan> still awaiting confirmation letter then i rang them they have my claim again it will take 16 weeks for a result.

I am hope the wait is worth it could do with the money!!!

A question I have a letter from Egg that shows I have PPI cover on my credit card, but when i complained to them they cam eback denying I have PPI, should i call them or go to FOS???

    Thanks in advance
