  • Hi all
    so im new :o
    my story-
going through my finances with a fine tooth comb 2 months ago while struggling financially, i noticed PPI on 2 RBS credit cards which were like £75 each per month- they are both large credit balances and i have had 1 10years and other around 6years-
so a LOT Of PPI payments
i scrutinised the paperwork and had it cancelled and then noticed that i am self employed it was completely usless anyway as cannot claim even if i did know i had it and wanted it etc
So followed MSE instructions wrote to RBS - received a response within 2 weeks saying they were looking into claim and investigating and to allow them 4 weeks-
then a second letter near end of 4 weeks saying needed more time which takes the 2 14/07/2011 2 days from now-
    and no response yet-
wondering if anyone has any advice if i have not received anything by the 14th as to what my next move should be????
    :T
    any help kindly appriciated

woooooooo hoooooooooooooo Result!!!!!!!!!! Finally, after much run around with bank of scotland they have made me an offer. They are offering me just over £2k back which could not come at a better time as I am moving house in a fortnight and could do with extra cash.

Thanks to everyone who helped me on these boards, I couldn't of done it without you.

    - Reclaiming PPI on a personal loan for a car
    - Provided by Egg plc
    - Got back £1,705.22
    - Took 5 months but very worthwhile!
    - Took out the loan in 2004, posted my initial complaint Feb 9th 2011, Egg confirmed receipt days later, then after 4 weeks gave an update saying they were trying to find the original conversation. Then another update same again after 8 weeks. Gave them another 4 weeks as the letter said they appreciate my patience and stated they would contact again if there was no result after 4 more weeks. 4 weeks passed with no contact and when I phoned to query this the guy essentially told me they didn't have to make that contact despite the letter saying they would. Very disappointing as I could have referred to the Ombudsman after 8 weeks. Next I sent Egg the letter stating I wanted them to look into it and contact me within two weeks or I would go to the Ombudsman. No contact so then I reported it to the Ombudsman service and received confirmation days later. Then soon after I received a letter from the Ombudsman service explaining what happens next and how they will contact me with developments. Then around 3 weeks later a letter from Egg came exactly 5 months after the original complaint, on July 9th saying after completing a full investigation my complaint had been upheld and enclosed was a cheque for £1,705.22, which included my payments made, interest paid and the 8% on top! Result!

I would highly encourage anyone with a claim to get it in, it really is just a few letters with some persistence and you could get your money back!

Many thanks to Martin and everyone on moneysavingexpert for providing the forms to send and a comprehensive guide on how to go about the process. This made the diffference for me and got me to do it and it has paid off!

    Great work :T Congratulations!
