I should say that when I said I felt hunted by these people I wasn't referring to the Co-Op who were actually very good but other lenders whom I made aware of my situation but who were downright nasty.0

Booooooooo to HSBC!!
I called them last week (Service Quality Department) regarding my claims that were sent on 9th May 2011. They don't know their !!!! from their elbow!
The FIRST person I spoke to said that my case was on hold due to the JR????? !!!!!!??????
When I politely pointed out that my letter was sent AFTER the JR, she was then flustered and passed me on to someone else. This person them stated that they had received my letters and they have now got 16 weeks to deal with them (correct!) so it would be 16 weeks from TODAY's DATE when I would receive a response (wrong!!)
When I again, very politely, pointed out that they had already had 8 weeks and according to the FSA extension they had 16 weeks from the receipt of the letter (according to the dates) that would surely mean that I would be waiting another 8 weeks, NOT 16 weeks?????
SILENCE..........
Oh yeah, you're right so you will hear from us by 19th August!!! OMG what a bunch numpties!!
I cannot believe that a company such as HSBC would fail to brief their staff so dismally that the customer has to inform them of what is going on...........its utter incompetence!! Especially as I called their "complaints department" not some bod in a call centre.
Ridiculous!!
Not holding my breath for 19th August but I have reference numbers for the calls that I have made so will be chasing with intent!!
Good luck to anyone else with HSBC.................lets harass them into submission!!0 -

They never bothered to send me out a letter to tell me my investigation had been extended again so I rung them last friday and basically complained I should of had a letter the week before telling me what was going on. All reviews have now been extended until 31st August apparently and they are not bothering to send letters to anyoen to inform them  but after a few moans and requests to speak to a manager I found out that my complaint is being upheld and they are just waiting to work out my total which I should have by...........31st August :rotfl: no wonder theres such a backlog if its going to take them 8 weeks to work out how much I am owed and pay me. I am a simple case as well
ETA: its 16 weeks from the date I sent the letter is it?, well thats interesting as I am 3 weeks off that mark, any chance you could link me to this info so I can call and quote it. Cheers for thatDebt Free...yay! 10/09/2013 :j

Yipppeee!!! Getting there slowly.... Had a phonecall this morning from the wonderful Nerys, she has kept her word and has been keeping me up-to-date for last two weeks.
My complaint has been upheld and has now gone off for them to calculate my redress :j:j:j. She is going to phone me again on Friday.

Many thanks for your e-mail which has just been received by Stephen Hester's office.
After reading your e-mail, I have arranged for a manager from our PPI Team to investigate your complaint and, to ensure that you get a full response. I have asked for a copy of the response so I can be sure that we've handled your complaint correctly. You will hear further from my colleague within 10 working days.
If, you have not had a response by this time, please contact us and we will take matters forward on your behalf.
Yours sincerely

Well done!! Could you tell me a little about your successful claim please? No idea whether mine will be upheld. They're meant to be getting back to me before the 19th July, but i'm not holding my breath. Initial complaint made way back in April - so maybe I should call them like you next week?0 -
thats the same as the one i got yesterday from same guy only i didn't get a time scale fingers crossed for both of us
I had the ten day email on 9th June and I'm still waiting. Have emailed Mr McLellan twice since reminding him of his 10 day deadline and still heard nothing:mad::mad:. I'm going to hound this man into submission .0 -

I would call if your letter has not arrived when it should ot tell you if it has been extended and/or upheld. I started mine in April as well so yours should not be far off. My complaint was for a loan, I took it out when I was young and clueless and was told the PPi was part of the loan and would be added to it, I was not informed I could opt out so I signed for it in the branch, luckily I still had all the paperwork here so I could quote from it.Debt Free...yay! 10/09/2013 :j

Hi there
My complaint is from November 2010. Got the usual fob offs but then started emailing CEO on a regular basis. Was passed around the houses a bit but wouldn't let it go.
antonio.osorio@lloydsbanking.com
He's the CEO of Lloyds banking group which took over Halifax which took over Bank of Scotland.
Make it clear that complaint is with BOS and quote their reference number too!!!! Give it a go you've got nothing to lose.
Good luck0
