Unforntuately he'll probably just pass it on to some muppet who calls themselves "an experienced" member of staff. I've had x3 of these now from x3 different people and they still insist on calling me Miss L ******* when I am Miss M go figure??????0 -
We have had various loans etc., over the years and credit cards. It wasn't until Martin started saying about the PPI that we looked into it properly. It would appear that we had PPI on virtually everything without actually knowing about it! I have submitted the form and submitted to each company. We are waiting on HSBC (does anyone know how long they take to acknowledge your complaint?). I made a call to Santander to enquire about the policy number on their loan. I didn't need to write to them or fill out a form and got a letter on Saturday stating that they were going to refund £2,350 - not bad at all for the price of a phone call - actually we delighted!!:j Hope the others come good as well - then I might get a holiday! :rotfl:0

Having got a refusal letter from M&S last Thursday I emailed back complaining and have today received a letter upholding my complaint on my credit card (but not on the storecard) They are refunding all my premium of PPI plus interest - £728.22.
The said they were not regulated when I took the store card but my point was that the cc was a new contract and they were regulated then.
Certainly better than nothing. Pleased with that outcome.
Hi can you tell me when you took out the store card as I am waiting for a response from them going back to the late 80's early 90's when did it change to a CC from a store card?
If PPI was missold on a CC is illegal how does it become legal if missold on a store card. ?:beer:0 -
i Have had two successful ppi claims upheld with cap one and mbna but would like some advice about a mortgage protectection ppi i took out with hsbc back in 2005 which i had for two years when i went back in 2007 due to financial trouble was told did not really need the ppi so cancelled it, when a review of my meeting at the bank arrived it said i had decided to cancel the policy which was a lie and i never thought any more about it until i became aware of all this ppi fiasco i still bank with hsbc and am permanently in my overdraft and over it and was wondering if they might get a bit childish if i sent them a letter saying i think i was misold the ppi0

Hi Rob,
Just wanted to also welcome you as a relative rookie myself in the MSE stakes. There are some fantastic people on here, very forthcoming with their sources of postivity, info and support. The issues we all appear to be addressing can be a long slog at the best of times, so at the very least I hope you get as much out of being on here as I have, and it proves to be successful.
Thanks Kuffs! I will definitely keep in touch with you all and let you know I get on. Hope to bump into you again in the near future0 -
Thanks so much for your response Di. I have taken your advice and sent off the questionnaire. Fingers crossed I will hear something back soon!0

This week the 8 weeks is up for my NRAM claim and we haven't heard anything so I gave them a ring and they said our complaint is still in head office and it is still in the 8-12 week period so i'll give them another 4 weeks to contact us with hopefully good news
.
The NRAM claim successes seem to have gone quiet lately after a run of them :cool:0 -

Interestingly enough I'm waiting for a response from M&S and my case was based on the same grounds as yours so I wonder if they will come back with the same refusal letter first - if they do I'll be right back at them as you did. I'm hoping for my PPI back which should be about £1400 plus interest, with any luck and fingers crossed! When did you submit your initial letter to them?something missing0 -

Hello there
First of all well done on your success!
In regards of mortgage PPI, this is something that Dunstonh and/or MagpieCottage should be able to help with, so below I have posted a new thread (its still within the ppi reclaiming) but this way your post will not get missed, remember to subject is as well.
