THIS (CLICK!) post from Chalfont Girl shows she had a payout from them inside of 6 weeks back near the end of June

Reading between the lines it looks like she had the payout only a few weeks after contacting Aviva, as she had been through the mill with Welcome and FOS prior to contacting them directly

Have you had the "15 working days" letter from Aviva? - I had this stating they would give a definitive response in 15 WD, that was about 2 weeks ago

(I originally contacted Welcome back at the beginning of march and it took them 3 months just to come back and essentialy say "not us guv, talk to the insurer!"

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick one regarding my Halifax PPI claim.

A letter came through this morning stating we were to have £2069.75 refunded. In short, a full refund. Bargain!

I'd used the template letters ( a huge thank you to Martin and the team! ), and sent my letter off in October last year. Never claimed on the insurance despite being made redundant in 2008.

Went through the "all cases on hold" malarky and played the waiting game. In the interim I'd gone to the Ombudsman and got my side in but it looks as though I now need to contact them to say Halifax have settled in full.

    A quick breakdown

    Refund of premiums = £1708.80
Refund of interest applied because of PPI = £347.24
    Interest at 8% = £13.71
    Total = £2069.75.

As we still have a balance with them they've wiped it off what's outstanding, but I'm more than happy with that.

Now I owe someone at work a case of beer for goading me into reclaiming, but again, that's a small price to pay. I just won't be making that purchase on my credit card :rotfl:

Still awaiting the outcome of 2 closed accounts with MBNA and closed mortgage account, again with the Halifax.

Once again a huge thanks to Martin and everyone at MSE for making it easy for the average bod to take on the big guys.

    Kind Regards,

    Daddyswede.

    *~*~* UPDATE *~*~*

    12/08/11

Checked online tonight - the £2,069.75 has been ADDED BACK ONTO THE ACCOUNT!!!
I rang the card services line and reported an unauthorised transaction ( just to be on the safe side ) it was explained to me that someone at Halifax had been e-mailing someone else in Halifax and concluded that they'd write me a cheque instead. After explaining that I was happy with the way things were originally sorted, the agent agreed to credit me the difference betweeen my two balances ( only about £20 in interest ), whilst I wait for their cheque to be re-credited to my account. I've asked the agent to feed everything back, as a cheque being raised was unnecessary and will only skewer everything.

    Seriously though, Halifax, !!!!!!?

This time it wasn't broke and didn't need fixing !

Just wanted to make you all aware and it was only by pure fluke that I went online tonight to check it. Cheeky gits.

  • Just got home from work to find a lovely wee letter from Santander saying they have investigated my claim and will make me an offer of £4500. Needless to say I am well over the moon. Just waiting to see how my claim with Clydesdale goes if I get that back it should be around £12000, heres hoping :D

    Your very welcome :A:beer:
Maybe Amersall could explain about the interest side of it for you.
But I think its interest they pay to date up to the point when they receive your signed acceptance, that does ring the bell with mine x
    Sorry,did not see this.
    You are right Di x.
  • Hi all
I've been reading this forum for quite a while now, finally I've had some success to report.
First letter sent to MBNA on the 13th of September 2010, they then asked for the FOS questionnaire so filled that in and sent it. It was then put on hold due to the judicial review. So I put the complaint to the FOS. After hearing nothing since March from either MBNA or the FOS I was gettting quite fed up. On the 14th of June I emailed the CEO at MBNA and had a relpy the next day from some one in the office there who said my complaint had been upheld and they would sort it out that week. They told me I should have had an acceptance from the FOS and they could do nothing else until they received that form, so to cut it short lots of emails to and fro between me MBNA and the adjudicator at the FOS and finally two weeks ago they were in a position to calculate redress. I was then promised figures on the Wednesday, then the Thursday and on it went, oh the efficiency of these companies! Finally today I've been told I will get 6.5K back, so don't give up. Thank you to all the wonderful people on here with all your advice.
