Oh please don't say that, started my FP claim last Oct and got the standard third letter on 18th June, stating they be offering a gesture of goodwill no later than the 31st Aug and that a letter would follow to explain the gesture. Anyone had this explanation of gesture letter yet?:mad:0

I sent my husbands complaint initially to MBNA (also an old Abbey Credit Card) on 13th June, to date have heard nothing, so I resent all the information on Monday and emailed their CEO to ask him what the delay was in acknowledging my original complaint, no reply from him.
I have a complaint lodged with them myself for an old Alliance and Leicester Credit Card, (I had originally posted it to Santander but when I obtained the free 30 day credit report it is showing as MBNA not Santander????) I got it registered by telephone last Friday and they said someone would call me and do it over the phone I didn't need to put anything in writing. I have heard nothing from them so rang them this afternoon and was told such is the volume of complaints at present it's taking them a while longer to work through them but someone will be in touch with me before the 19th July.
I think this is beginning to take over my life, much to the amusement of my husband I am running about with a large folder full of info and complaints!! He thinks I'm mad and we will never get anything back!!0 -
Hi i am looking for help and advice on what to do next. I have made a new thread for the below but i know this one is viewed alot so have put in here aswell.
I started a claim against capital one for my partner who took out his credit card in 2004 whilst he was a serving soldier in the british army. We cannot find statements back to this date but ones from 2007 show he was paying PPi so i sent of a template letter to request this back as he would never have been able to claim if he was injured due to work as he was a soldier, but also if he was sick for any reason he received full sick pay so would still have been able to pay his bill.
Today we received a letter back saying that he did not orriginaly request PPi on his postal application(when he is sure he applied online and this was a pre-ticked box) and that he requested PPi to be added in december 2005 when he rang to activate his new card. Which he says he did not do.
They have stated this is their final responseand will not uphold the claim, my question is do you think i should now go straight to the ombudsman or request a SAR??!! and if i request a SAR how do i do it and what do i need to say???
Any help would be most appriciated. I think they are doing this as it will potentially be a large pay out as he has had the card from 2004 to present and ppi each month is between £25-£30.
Thanks in advance!!:)0 -
Hi,
I had some early success with Egg last year and pursued others for PPI.
MBNA swiftly rejected me in September, the FOS adjudicator upheld my complaint but MBNA stalled on it due to the legal case and have since rejected the FOS adjudicators upheld complaint.
Now it must go to an Ombudsman at the FOS. Does anybody know how much longer it will now take for an Ombudsman to review my case?
By the way, MBNA's letter of rejection was at best arrogant and at worst was suggesting that I was a pillock.0 -
I received an offer letter from Tesco admitting misold PPI and an offer of £500. However they say I took out my credit card in 2000 and as they only hold records for 6 years they are only offering me 2003 - 2004 refund. If I can provide any ealier statements they will change my offer. Obvioulsy I don't have statements for the period 2000 - 2003 so should I accept the £500, which incidently will be applied to my outstanding balance as I currently pay them throught the CCCS?
I've sent off probably 10+ letters and this is the only offer I've had back. All the following have stated I have no case:
Satander (Evans storecard)
Nationwide Credit Card
Littlewoods Index
Fashion World
Only received holding letters from:
Barclays Credit Card
MBNA
Natwest Loans x 2
Natwest Goldcard
In a really rough calculation I reckon I'm owed about £15,000 and at this rate I'm only gonna get £500 quid.
It's been a couple of months now since filling out my questionnaires so should I be chasing anyone? I literally run for the post every morning hoping to get a big fat cheque from someone:j:j:j MY PPI JOURNEY :j:j:j
NATWEST BANK £12,426.51, BARCLAYCARD £4,161.76, MBNA £3,034.23, TESCO £458.020 -
SUCCESS!! I didn't think I'd ever fallen for PPI, but had a look through old statements and discovered that I was paying it on an old Abbey credit card from 2004-2006. I'd since fallen into financial hardship, and closed the account with a short-settlement and so didn't think I'd ever get anything back. I had ALL my old statements though, and meticulously calculated everything that I'd paid in PPI, and speculatively filled in the form on this site and sent it to Santander.
Got my reply this morning, and they have upheld my complaint, and are giving me a refund of over £3000! Great news as I'm getting married in 2 days! Honeymoon here I come! :-D
hi do u mind me asking how much was your balance on the card please? thats a really good payout for 3 year period well done0 -
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on here who has posted their experiences.
I wrote two lines to Egg, no formal letter, stating that I believed my Egg loan PPI was sold to me on the understanding that I required it to get the loan, and was therefor illegally sold.
4 weeks later I had a letter apologising for the delay. Now 8 weeks later, a full refund + 8% interest!!
A cheque for over £1500
I felt awkward at the time they said I needed PPI, so I've no problems accepting the refund. But I'm pleased at how good they have been about it.
WOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Hi there
The point is your hubby was covered, so personally I think they are just trying to fob off. The policy was worthless to him.
A SAR may be useful to help with your case and should include details of the account, how sold and so on.
To do a SAR, there is a letter template below, you can use that one and tweak if if you want to, you enclose the account number and enclose the one off £10 cheque or postal order, they then have 40 calendar days to comply.

Hope this helps you case, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
hi guys ive been trying to post this all day but seems problem
called shop direct - the case handler dealing with mine not in till late after noon - (im still waiting)
called citi - the PPI dept dont take calls so i had to speak with customer service who finally found my details. When i told hime what my query was he went through to that dept he came back saying the jr was still on hold so they are not dealing and dont know when.
So i told him to tell them this is incorrect - i asked if they were apart of RBS he said no they only have a contract with them.
So i told him to tell the manager in the dept - the jr had been upheld if they are apart of RBS then they have 16 weeks to sort out. if they are not part of rbs then they have 8 weeks.
He asked where i got my info from i advised him FOS.
He went back to them and after about 10 mins he came back and said one of the senior managers requested my details to try and tract down my ppi claim form and wanted all the info name & address and how much ppi i thought it was - which from the sar which has 2 years missing is £1700 - he said they will look into and get back to me immediately.
so kinda looks positive.
as thursday will leave for a couple of days till monday.
Rae
Well done Rae for being so on the ball. Tell them how to do their job. Hmmmm bet they thought they could just fob you off..not a chance. I wonder how many others they played that game with.
Good luck;)Footiemad:footie: 2013 - SPC no.1147...Keeep potting!!
