Many thanks for this much appreciated!:)

If anyone wants to know which bank treats their customers with respect and fairness look no further than the posts on this forum. It seems that some banks are processing claims within a month with offers while others are hiding behind the 16 weeks and dragging it out to the exact timescales. If you miss a credit card payment you get telephones calls all day long and get charged £12. Banks change dates and don't keep promises and don't get any charges .

That is so true, I'm waiting for the postman everyday like everybody else!!!! The majority of mine @5 claims have written to extend to the 16weeks, I do understand they are all very busy, but instead of wasting their time writing to say they are going to take longer they could be cracking on with sending cheques to the likes of all of us waiting for what's rightly ours!!!!!! Just needed a little rant!! Sorry guys!! Congratulations to all the recent wins in the last few days since I've been on the site!!! Fantastic, & I know it'll be well worth the wait!!! Keep at them!!

Hi, thanks, the loan was Beneficial Bank which then became HFC (I believe), the bank account I held was with the Halifax.

    Hi Mrs I!

How long ago did you hold the Halifax account?

I would be inclined to post a SAR to both Beneficial and Halifax - it's got to be worth £20 in SAR fees to get a stab and what is probably worth a few £k to you (especially with 8% interest for all that time!)

Obviously it will help in both cases if you have the account number (maybe you have it for Halifax only - you could still get statements that might show the Beneficial account number next to the amount being deducted via Direct Debit each month?)

I know for a fact Beneficial (Now HFC/HSBC) hold data at least as far back as March 1997 (and probably a whole lot further)

    Beneficial SAR address:

    PO Box 5137
    Coventry
    CV3 9EP

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

SUCCESS!! I didn't think I'd ever fallen for PPI, but had a look through old statements and discovered that I was paying it on an old Abbey credit card from 2004-2006. I'd since fallen into financial hardship, and closed the account with a short-settlement and so didn't think I'd ever get anything back. I had ALL my old statements though, and meticulously calculated everything that I'd paid in PPI, and speculatively filled in the form on this site and sent it to Santander.

Got my reply this morning, and they have upheld my complaint, and are giving me a refund of over £3000! Great news as I'm getting married in 2 days! Honeymoon here I come! :-D

It is a couple of weeks now since Barclays said they would refund on a "no quibble" basis for legitimate claims received before their cut off date in April.
I have 3 claims with them put on hold in February for JR.

Has anyone heard anything from them yet?
