I put in a claim with Barclays end of June because I received Company sick pay /PHI/Life assurance etc- although for 6 months it would have been half pay sick.
I hope they refund my money as its at least £8000.00!! I'm surprised Barclays haven't been mentioned more on here seeing as they are automatically refunding the complaints that were previously put on hold.
I also phoned Egg who I had a loan and a credit card with back in 2006 I think! They were very help as I had no paperwork they asked for my postcode and found the PPI Reference Number and sent a fax to the PPI complaints department. I have received a letter saying they will get back to me in 8 weeks.
Good luck everyone :-)0 -

Hi,
please forgive me if my question has already been covered in an earlier post. I recently claimed against Santander for a missold PPI on a Dorothy Perkins store card which was then owned by GE Capital and opened in 1991. I clearly recall the lady I actually remember her name!! telling me that by taking the insurance I would have a much better chance of my application being successfull, of course I believed her totally she told me everyone took it and it was really part of the application process.
In light of the recent publicity I complained to Sandander and they rejected my claim yesterday, they told me that my poilcy had actually been upgraded in 1998 in fact the date it was upgraded was the date i was i hospital giving birth to my daughter!!They said I had been informed of this I have absolutely no recollection of this and certainly it was not done in store so they must've sent me a letter informing me of this. Santander said that it would've made clear to me that I had 30 days to cancel and basically it was up to me to do this!! The letter further said that no further payments were made into the poicy from Sept 1998, yet I still have statements from 1999 and 2000 clearly showing the ppi premiums being taken each month.
I have written to the FLA, but wonder whats my chances if any??
Has anyone else got a similar experience?0 -

Yes, in the same boat as you for a Debenhams card (I also had a Dorothy Perkins card I have yet to claim on). Same situation as you really Santander have said no to me too. I wrote to FLA who were a waste of time, just past my letter to Santander who referred their final response back to FLA who have said to me unless I can send anything else in to prove I never agreed to PPI, Santander have won. The Santander letter to the FLA also quoted an incorrect card number and store on their letter which the FLA did not even pick up on.
I never would have agreed to PPI. I was standing at a cashier desk in the middle of Debenhams, with my three year old, do they really think that the sales assistant would have run through all the terms and conditions of the insurance with me - I don't think so.
I am waiting for my letter back from the FLA asking them what proof do they expect me to give them - and why is Santander not providing proof to me that the shop assistant sold the policy to me correctly, why is the onus on us to prove it?
Will keep you post.0 -

Received a response saying they could not track my account details, surprise, surprise, I had given my account number & address at time of loan + present address!!!! Think they are stalling me as I gave the exact details when requesting my loan agreement terms & conditions to which they sent a copy!!! They didn't respond to my second email! Here's hoping I get a reply today!!!! Very excited though, just found another 4 loans/credit cards my partner has had over the years all with PPI and all closed so here's again hoping we will get some cash in our pocket with those ones!!! Well done on all your wins Di, it's all great stuff!!!!
Hiya
And thank you.;)
