;) Thanks for the info Di, i do bank with Lloydstsb so that may not help but i will be keeping at them until this is concluded one way or another and i am reasonably sure that they will "cough up" once i have an Ajudicator allocated at the FOS and working on them because back in March this year i managed to get over £5k refunded in respect of ppi on a Loan with them and they caved in on that one before the FOS got at them. The reason for my claim being the same as on the Credit Card.
Thanks again and good luck with yours.

Well done on your loan claim then hun that is brilliant..... :T , I have yet the loans side of it to deal with, but if I get through the credit card ppi complaint, I think like you, then the chances will be the same as getting the one back from the loans......:D , all for the same reasons.

Good on you for keeping at them, that's what I like to hear lol.....:D :T  .

  • To those of you who have been successful in claiming loan PPI, but only after involving the FSO...

How long did it take for the FSO to reach their verdict? I sent off my stuff 5 months ago now, and the last letter i recieved (a few weeks ago) said that they had all the info they required and it was ready to be passed to an adjudicator...(previous letters had said they were waiting for an adjudicator to be available, or something like that).

    Thanks for any help

I have to assume from the response so far that Nobody at all has had a successful ppi claim from Lloydstsb credit cards so far. Is this really true ? OR is there some sort of major stalling tactic taking place on the part of LTSB Credit Cards.

No I have had claim with FOS now since about January this year and has not even got to an adjudicator yet.

I have reclaimed PPI on a personal loan from Abbey taken in 2003. I was sold the insurance as a condition of being accepted for the loan. I used the letter template from this website initially and then completed the bank's own complaints process.

And I've just got back nearly £6,000!! This represents all of the premiums plus 8% interest. There was no question or resistance from the bank.

I've never attempted anything like this before - I must admit that I was a bit doubtful about doing it - and I can't believe how easy it was. If you're wondering if it could work for you then just check the list of what might apply to you and give it a go - there's really nothing to lose and SO much to gain.

    Well done HelenSouthWest.

    Drinks are on you:beer:

Claim against HFC (Beneficial Finance) upheld.

Raised complaint via email, (no template letter) few chase calls after the 40 days expired, offered £2100 refund against the current balance. Total time approx 11 weeks, although I think I was quite lucky. The knowledge on this forum was invaluable in getting across that I knew what I was talking about and my rights as a consumer.

    This forum is fantastic!

Yes thats right, thats exactly what they said to me in the last letter that they sent to me dated 31st July 2008 and the quotes from the previous letters look very familiar too !. Also my first contact with them was confirmed by them on a letter confirming receipt of form etc. on January 5th 2008.It is said patience is a virtue isn't it ?.
  • PPI initial letter sent 15/10/08.
    Dear Sir or Madam,
Re: Account number: 123456789 PPI Insurance (Creditcare Bronze)
I purchased the above policy from you on xx xxxx xxx but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following:

This is due to the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me,

    • Your salesperson did not give me any information on what the policy would and would not cover.
    • I am concerned the sales assistant that sold me the policy had no financial background and the policy was not sold in my best interests.
    • The ppi was included in the documents sent by the courier, and as the loan was urgently required, I was not able to dispute this at the time. I do not recall requesting payment insurance.
Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.
Also, please could you ensure your only contact is by way of letter.
    Letter received today 11/11/08
Having considered your letter and as you are a valued customer, i have decided to pay you an amount which will put you back to the position you would have been in had you not taken the insurance. This is done without admission of liability and in full and final settlement of your complaint.

We will contact you shortly to confirm the exact details of the amount that will be paid to you.

All i can say is that i feel like dancing right now, thank you all ::T:T :T

  • I applied for a loan with Halifax back in 2004 for £17500.00. I was told that to have the loan I needed to take the PPI, which was added at the outset to the loan taking it up to £21650.00 over 7 years.

After hearing you on GMTV advising that this was wrong, I wrote to the Halifax. They returned a letter stating that there was no evidence of missselling, so I wrote to them again, explaining that the info was given verbally. They never responded so I wrote to the financial ombudsman, who agreed to take up my case.

It has taken a few months, but I have now had a letter back confirming that Halifax are looking to settle my claim!! Not sure on exact figures at the moment, but am expecting to get back around £4.5k!!

For all of you out there who have had back negative responses from the organisations - DON'T GIVE UP!!:rotfl: :j
