    Hi Amersall,
Thanks very much for the link to Santander that you gave me,but before I phone them,do you think there is anything that i should avoid saying on my initial call,I don't want to comprimise my chances of any claims.
As you can tell, this is my first time at this, and I feel a little nervous that I will say the wrong thing!!!
    Thanks again
    Steve
Sorry a bit late answering !.
All you say (if you have not phoned them yet :o)
Is that you want to claim for mis sell of ppi, give them the account number you have and tell them there is another one you wish to claim as well.

They may ask you for reasons you think you were mis sold, you know what they are so tell them, i would think they would not ask you anymore than that.
You just tell it as it is.

brilliant news, well done you must be thrilled :)

I sent my HSBC letter in September, but still nothing yet, getting more and more impatient, but trying not to... rung them a number of times and still told that I'm part of the queue. Trying to remain calm about it.

    My Quote of today is......
PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE. YOU WILL GET THERE IN THE END.:j

    • What were you reclaiming: cover on mail order
    • Who was the provider: La Redoute
    • How much did you get back: £428
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After one eMail sent to their "contact us" link on the website
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
This has got to be the fastest "win" on here so far.... sent eMail on 20th June 2011, received offer and promise of a cheque in the post today!!! That is 3 days in total!! Cheque not here yet but how impressive is that service???!!!
The simply said because they did not have a recording of the call when I may have agreed to the cover they would be happy to repay with not further questions .... hooray:rotfl:

Hi, FP rebate of ppi when you settle is 30%, so when you settled the loan the ppi that was taken off the settlement would have been 4,530, so you paid them back when you settled £10,570 of ppi the company will want the % of that, so if it is 25% that would be £2,642 then vat, and remember this is your money.

You will also get the 24 payments that you made of ppi with interest and the 8% and they will want the % of that plus vat too.

I think i have worked it out right, but if it is wrong i am sure someone will put me right.

But, put that against £450 and you can see why it is better to cancel and pay the fee.

At the end of the day the company took this on knowing full well this was a win, and all they had to do was download the template letter, probably from this site!! and post it !!!.
please do everything in your power that you can to just cancel and pay the £450.

Thanks for that information!! I so hope you are right with what we would have paid FP back, it would be so nice to think we would be owed that much!!! I am not being greedy, just interested, but would we also get interest on the £10,570 or would that be exempt from interst?

I am trying to hang it out as much as possible as at the moment we dont have £450, other than the money to pay our bills with!!! But anyway I spoke to Barclays (or whatever company FP are calling themselves now) and asked what if we wanted to cancel the claims company, the guy said that they would need it in writing that it had been cancelled, yet the other person I spoke to just said he would put a note on the account. I would like to think that the first guy I spoke to did put a note on the account and we can take it from there!!!

I was told today that the offers are all being sent out within 4 weeks and then payment will be made within another 4 weeks so that they can have everyone paid out by the 31st August.
