OMG! £17,500! Very well done. Do you mind me asking, was it Credit Card PPI and if it was, how far back did you go?
Congratulations again, you must be well chuffed.something missing0 -

Overall- just under a year (but that was because of the BBA action which put the claim on hold).
I did receive a few 'we are investigating and will issue a response letter in 28 days' letters.

Definitely! But it goes to show just how much ppi actually costs in the long run...
It was my credit card and for all ppi since taking out the card (so I think around 2002/3 onwards...).0 -

I had loan with Alliance & Leicester (Now Santander) ages ago. After reading this forum decided to phone santander, did this monday this week, today recd letter of offer of £1500. Sent confirmation straight away, they say money will be with me next week. How quick was that, hope the others (Lloyds, Halifax) are the same. I phoned my complaints through, seemed quick and easy to do, rather than loads of letters and forms, would recommend people do the same, but keep records.
Good luck everyone.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I was hoping for some advice if possible. My mum was miss sold ppi on her mortgage many years ago relating to it being covered if she or my dad ever became ill and were unable to pay meet the monthly payments. Unfortunately she had a stroke four years ago and low and behold the bank told her she was not covered as it only covered redundancy, basically the complete opposite of what she was sold.
She tried to claim back the money before it all went through the courts and was turned down and told she was wrong, the policy had been sold correctly. After seeing martin’s success on the TV I told her to try again. Last month she wrote to the bank following advice on here and she just received a letter back today saying they were prepared to pay her £4000, this is half the amount we worked out she was entitled to. Should she accept this or do you think they are trying to get out of paying the full amount? I don’t know if we should write back and push for the full amount or be happy with what the offered. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

Hi Laura
May I suggest that you also expand on this and post as well on a new/separate thread so that you receive the correct advice on this one.
Dunstonh is normally the one to help in mortgage ppi cases and I'm sure he will post up some advice for you.
I have posted a new thread link below, remember as well to give it a title appropriate for your query, for eg: Mortgage PPI help, dunstonh will not miss this post then.
Sorry to hear of your mum's issues though and hope things resolve soon, the best of luck.
