I sent my Acceptance form back on 16th May and everytime I phone about the refund I get fobbed off with how busy they are (Which they probably are !!)

Has anybody had a refund paid into their account recently ??, if so when did you send your acceptance back ??? just to give me a guide when I expect my refund ??? :o

Hi there, when you win redress the company will want a % on the whole of the 15,100 plus vat, and i am sure that they will want the % on the ppi you have paid to the settlement date of your loan.

You will get the ppi back less the rebate they gave you when you settled plus the payments (24) that you made with the interest on those plus 8 %!! not good with calcs but that is a lot of money!!

Dont let this company take your win, do as i said previous post.

I fully intend to try and do what you said previously, I had thought about doing that myself and then you confirmed that I should try it!! I know its wrong but I suppose its worth a try!!!

I dont think we would have had to have paid the full £15,100 with us not keeping the loan until its term. We only paid it for 2 years before we paid it off, therefore I would hope that the claims company wouldnt be able to take a cut of that - thats if I cant cancel it.

I presume we will have just paid a percentage of the £15,100 (I really cant remember how much we had to pay back to them to settle the whole loan and the PPI) but will get back the 24 payments that we made plus interest, plus the 8% simple interest (whatever that is).

Hi all
As mentioned in my recent posts, I'm in the middle of claiming ppi from MBNA. Iv had 2 letters, the last saying I would be contacted by 22nd June (today), but I've heard nothing.
Is it time to start calling them? I've only dealt with them by post so far.
And does anyone know the correct contact number?
Thanks in advance.

Hiya
The post may just be delayed, see if the postie comes along tomorrow, if nothing arrived by then yes contact them.

Some numbers above link, but if you contact one of them they should put you through to the appropriate dept.

Did they not leave a tel number on any of the letters as well perhaps?

Good luck.;)

Hi Di
No, no contact number I'm afraid. I know I'm being a bit pedantic expecting the letter when they said they would, just wanting to try and hurry it all along.
Thanks very much for the link, you're a star as always. Congrats on the recent wins btw.

Hi, FP rebate of ppi when you settle is 30%, so when you settled the loan the ppi that was taken off the settlement would have been 4,530, so you paid them back when you settled £10,570 of ppi the company will want the % of that, so if it is 25% that would be £2,642 then vat, and remember this is your money.

You will also get the 24 payments that you made of ppi with interest and the 8% and they will want the % of that plus vat too.

I think i have worked it out right, but if it is wrong i am sure someone will put me right.

But, put that against £450 and you can see why it is better to cancel and pay the fee.

At the end of the day the company took this on knowing full well this was a win, and all they had to do was download the template letter, probably from this site!! and post it !!!.
please do everything in your power that you can to just cancel and pay the £450.

Hi there, I too have a complaint with HSBC which they received in November 2010.
Hadn't heard anything at all since the end of the Court Hearing- so on Tuesday last week I emailed that Chief Executive (chiefexecutivehsbcbank@hsbc.com) explaining I'd not heard anything back, and was getting a bit frustrated etc.... Had a letter through from HSBC the following day, saying that they are looking into it now.
Then on Saturday, I received a settlement offer of just over £5,000!!
I sent back my acceptance letter over the weekend, and called them yesterday to ensure that they had received it- which they have. I've been told the money should be in my account in 3-5 working days... not sure why it takes so long, but will chase them again tomorrow!!

I want to be really happy about this, but want to have the money in my account before I let myself get too excited.... but hopefully if it all goes through ok, then this will make such a huge difference in my life... so just want to thank you all for your advice, which I've been following on the forum since I started all of this back in November!

Good luck Carolyn in your claim with them!!

Congratulations Beckstar. I also have a compliant with HSBC, went in October 2010. Have heard nothing from them. Can I be cheeky and ask you what your reason for mis selling was. And any chance you can briefly say what you put in the letter to the CEO. It will be much appreciated.

Again, well done :D
