first congratulations :) i had the same result from mbna regards my abbey credit card apparently if you havent cleared the amount owed between signing up for the card and the current date then you arnt entitled to the 8% which seems a big swizz doesnt it :(

could i ask how long you have had your loan or credit card just interesting to see to compare interest ? :)

I have had it two years. Hope this helps,

oooh to have a nice 17000 cheque through lol although i doubt it as i havent borrowedd that much lol im really pleased for you amersall sounded like a lot of hard work, im hoping my last 3 claims will give better results to make a difference to my debts ;)

Thank you, that was just on the one claim for frontloaded ppi with Barclays First Plus, a while ago now and the only one that i had to take to FOS.my very 1st!! claim too, umpteen claims since though.
    I won all the rest!!.

    this was the total breakdown.

    ppi .... wait for it...£23,000
I complained about the insurance in 08 and was told "you were not mis sold" but as a gesture of goodwill they would give me £11,000 off the insurance,(i know now that was pretty good for FP) this reduced my balance by this amount .. but it did not bring my monthly payment down by the ppi amount !! i rang them up and was told "the ppi total is still on the loan and payable to term end":mad:

I then was watching GMTV and saw Mr M :A talking about ppi and i thought mmmmmm i wonder :(:(
I put a claim in for mis sell for the ppi, and after nearly 2 years (it had to go to FOS) FP kept saying that they had dealt with my claim in full and final with the refund of part of the ppi.

When the FOS found in my favour :A
I was given the £12,000 off the balance, this gave me the total ppi off my account, i recieved all ppi i had paid to date of over £7,000 with interest on those and the 8%
total ppi taken off loan, balance reduced and monthly payment gone down.
So really i got nearly £30,000 in total and a reduction on monthly loan payments.
In my pocket nearly £7,000 so that was well worth waiting for.

I have won mis sell with just the settlement figures, so give it all you got and dont get despondent, you will get there in the end x.

That is why i urge people not to give up and dont get stressed out
it is just not worth it.

I also told her that I had cancelled the PPI on the loan but was still paying it
That is a good thing as you will benefit when the loan is reset, you will notice a difference in your monthly payment.

omg thats an amazing story of success amersall can i ask if you dont mind (hmm i seem to be asking that alot lately lol) how much did you originaly borrow?

id love to know how much id be due on a 10 year loan of either £5000 or £7000 (im not sure of that actual total as i re borrowed the original £5000 before acutaly paying off the first £5000 if that makes sense) so not even sure if i would of paid 2 lots of ppi as i had to go through another application when re newing it. in the end i paid back £14000 and it finaly ended last year thank god so god knows how much of that was ppi??? ill probably get back a fiver :rotfl:

I sent off a letter to Santander just over three weeks ago to see about claiming PPI mis-sold to me on two loans I had running since 2002. They were aware I was self employed when I applied for the loans. I received a letter last Friday (my birthday) offering me £2335. I am overjoyed as this now has paid off a credit card I was struggling with. I have now sent off four more to other Credit cards and store cards. Wish me luck:j

Thats great Sonnyboy. Well done. :j:j:beer: And a belated Happy Birthday, hope you celebrated in style after winning your claim :D

Good luck with the others too.

The balance was always carried over,

    Upheld means you won right

Thanks for response - gives me some hope.

Yes- I have won,but they wont pay the interest charged by them on the PPI just the Stat 8%.

It is now with FOS,but what worries me is a seperate claim with FOS for same reason with smae bank/account,but relating to late and default fees, has been rejected by FOS.

Maybe its different with PPI ? I hope so as it makes a huge difference the the amount of redress.

    Thanks again,

    Matty

:jWell done on your win :beer:

Think if you want ppi back for the length of the card, you will have to have statements to back this up.
I could be wrong, but people have posted on here that they got more as they had the statements to back this up.

If anyone got it all back without proof, then i am sure they will post and let you know how they got it, so you can do the same.

I have recently had a claim upheld and an offer of 5K for the last 6 years in accordance with the records they have on file.
I spoke to them and said this cant be right as I have had the card a lot longer than 6 years.
They said if I could send them further evidence beyond the 6 years records that they have, they will re calculate the redress due.

I therefore sent them copies of my statements going back over the last TWENTY years.

    I await their response.

    Matty.
