    Hiya

Nothing is ever straight forward, your so right there.

I know with my Lloyds last 2 I just been successful on, they stated that they would put me in the position as if no ppi was taken out, and will go along with the FOS guidelines of reclaiming.

The calculations was not sent to me until after I returned the signed acceptance forms.

Cheers. That's very informative. I might as well sign and get on with it then. I'll be glad when this is all over, to be honest.

Did you get the copy of your agreement from the Archives team in Bradford before sending your complaint?

Put in a complained with them on the 15th May, they acknowledged the complained on the 19th May. Received a letter yesterday off of them stating how sorry they are. They have looked at my policy and have found out that it is not appropriate for me. Basically they told me that if my marriage broke up then I would be covered. I have never been married.
The Redress team will now complete the relevant calculations. This should be done in the next 10 working days. A letter will be issued with the breakdown of any amounts payable.
I paid £12.12 on the PPI for 24 months.
No idea what I will get back, but this will be fantastic and pay for my 2 children's school uniforms as they are moving up to the big school. Thank you for all your support.
Forward now with three more claims. :):):)

    Hi
Got my Redress letter back on the 15th June. Halifax have worked it out as the following:-
Refund of premiums to date = £297.70
Interest charged on premiums = £66.15
    Compensatory interest at 8% = £0.00
    Total = £363.85

They have said that they will send me a cheque for the amountin the next 10 days. Qusetion have they missed off my Compensatory interest at 8%?
  • Provider: Egg
    Amount Reclaimed: ?
Amount they paid: premiums £4,061.90; Refund of Interest £279.43; Refund of interest at 8% £ 1,006.75 = £5348.08
    The story:
Sent Martin's template letter to Egg on 11 May 2011, not 100% sure I'd get anything! Received a complaint acknowledgement letter within two weeks, received a letter after 4 weeks staying they were still looking into it. The next day a letter arrived saying my PPI premiums had been cancelled. Then the next day received a letter saying they were offering me £5,348.08 in full and final settlement. This was credited to my credit card account the following day. So just one letter, Martin's template to Egg and they paid up within 5 weeks, didn't have to chase or call once!

Thanks so much everyone at MoneySavingExpert - you have made life a whole lot better!:T

first congratulations :) i had the same result from mbna regards my abbey credit card apparently if you havent cleared the amount owed between signing up for the card and the current date then you arnt entitled to the 8% which seems a big swizz doesnt it :(

could i ask how long you have had your loan or credit card just interesting to see to compare interest ? :)
  • Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on this site. I made a complaint in October last year to hsbc. Like everyone else I was getting delayed every month until I saw a post last week to email CEO. I did that last week and today had my complaint upheld for almost 7k. Needless to say I have already sent my letter back and hopefully will get paid soon. Whilst I do believe this was money owed to me, it is still a great feeling to finally get it back in your account.

    Many thanks to everyone

Thanks very much for your reply.

Unfortunately I no longer live in England (moved back to
Northern Ireland) so can't pop into a branch but I will certainly email the CEO and customer care team :-)

I was just worried it was too long ago I
Guess and they would not consider my claim?

    Hiya

I would definately give it a go, if you don't you will never know, fingers crossed.
