PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Sent Martin's template letter to Egg on 11 May 2011, not 100% sure I'd get anything! Received a complaint acknowledgement letter within two weeks, received a letter after 4 weeks staying they were still looking into it. The next day a letter arrived saying my PPI premiums had been cancelled. Then the next day received a letter saying they were offering me £5,348.08 in full and final settlement. This was credited to my credit card account the following day. So just one letter, Martin's template to Egg and they paid up within 5 weeks, didn't have to chase or call once!

well done thats brilliant ive also had a reply from my egg credit card today could i ask if you dont mind did you provide evidence of paper work dating back to when you first opend the account? and have you had the account longer than six year at all? im only asking as egg only refunded me £216 pound which i paid over the last 6 years

Does anyone else feel that they are "flogging a dead horse" at times!! I just seem to keep getting letters asking for more and more information and getting nowhere else. Yet other people just seem to get their money back after just one or two letters and with in a couple of weeks!!!! Its just so frustrating and starting to cost me a fortune in postage!!! Hopefully it will all be worth it one day in the future!!!

You will get there in the end at least stamps are not upwards of 25% plus vat :D;)
I was messed about by Barclays First Plus for 18mths, just over a year ago.
There was no way i was letting them get away with keeping my money
and just kept at it. (result 17,000 and ppi taken off loan +8%).

I have had my share of "quick" wins and "slow" wins, but we get there in the end.

oooh to have a nice 17000 cheque through lol although i doubt it as i havent borrowedd that much lol im really pleased for you amersall sounded like a lot of hard work, im hoping my last 3 claims will give better results to make a difference to my debts

Hi Yes I've had the same I faxed my acceptance back on the 17th May. When i Phoned on the 7th June asking whats happening they said it was still on the Casehandlers desk and they were very busy I told them I didn't think it was good enough and they told me it would be dealt with ASAP and they would send it to the Leeds office as they are the one's dealing with the refund.
So I called them yesterday and I had a snotty lady on the phone telling me they have had over 300 refunds to deal with from headoffice this week alone and she wasn't going to check if mine was amongst them.!!!!!!! Her attitude was terrible, not once did she apologise for the wait. I felt I was an inconvenice to her. She told me I probably would'nt get it for another few weeks. I also told her that I had cancelled the PPI on the loan but was still paying it but again she said it would be looked into !!
TERRIBLE SERVICE !!!!:mad:
If I don't get any joy by next Friday I will go to CEO !!

When did you send your acceptance back ??????
