Had some good news today, 5 weeks after putting cliam on via online MBNA have said they have upheld my claim of £3500 in payments during the course, £8,000 in interest and £1,300 at 8%, giving me £13,000 !
Didn't expect them to come back as quick, but so glad i didn't go via a claim agency as would of lost a load of that in commission !!
Well done - that is a fantastic result.
Did you always pay your card of in full each month or did you carry a balance forward?
I have had notification today that my claim with them has been upheld in my favour and was wondering what I might expect - reason I ask is that on another ongoing claim I have the bank (Amex) have refused to pay the interest back.

Hi
I'm new to the site and just wanted some advice.
I banked with Lloyds TSB from 1997 to 2002.
I had two loans during this time and although I no longer have the paperwork, am fairly certain they will have charged PPI - they charged for everything else!
I wrote to them with my current account number advising that both my loan monthly payments came out of this account although I couldn't trace the loan account numbers. I remember when I moved banks they wouldn't let me close my current account because of the loans, so it should be easy enough for them to trace.
First letter received back said they can't trace without loan account numbers blah blah
I wrote back stating that yes they should be able to as they have the acc. num for my current account. no reply to this letter which was received end of 2010.
I have written again complaining about lack of response to my challenge and asking for my paperwork (SAR, though will probs say they don't have these docs).
Have I got ANY chance at all of claiming back PPI? I was in a job with decent benefits at the time i.e. 6 months full pay 6 months half so would not have accepted PPI. Also, we were not financially flush, hence taking the loan, so anything to keep payments down would have been best.
Loans were for £5000 and £8000
Thanks :-)) Hope someone can advise me!0 -

That's a brilliant result, it's like a mini-lottery win!
I've got a claim in with M&S for mis-sold PPI (which amounted to around £1300 over the course of 7 years) and just got the standard letter with the 8 week turnaround time. What I can't figure out is how some refunds appear to be large, like the interest amount in your claim and some are a lot smaller. Does it depend on how large the balances have been, whether you cleared the balances or how one company calculates it as opposed to another?
I suppose it's irrelevant unless the claim gets upheld so it's more out of curiousity I suppose.something missing0 -
morning guys well heard from egg credit card this morning kinda success mixed in with a failure and would like some advice (no surprise there then) right so ive heard from egg credit card this morning
they have upheld in my favour and our refunded me my premiums paid with interest and the 8% interest
total = £216 :S
now this is where the kinda failure kicks in i took the card out in about 2002 and was paying ppi insurance until roughly 2006 when i heard about the ppi insurance scandle on mse i phoned to cancel it relising that i didnt need it,
so egg have only decided to refund from the last six years which as you can see was probably the month before i made my last ppi insurance hence such a small amount refunded
now my question is should i take the case to the ombudsman to get back the full amount i paid since 2002?? i think its really unfair that i paid all that cash when i didnt need it but i only get back a tiny amount of it because of this 6 year window, if i took it to the ombudsman as egg have upheld in my favour would they rward me the rest of the money?0 -
Just had a letter from Egg willing to repay back £459 pounds wiping my debt with them altogether!
Yay! :money:
Capital One have offered me £99 pounds, but I am not going to take it as I am sure they owe me a lot more than that.
Now in the process of taking my grievence out with a store card. Any one else had any luck with these?0
