Keep checking your card, the cheque should not be too long, if by any chance you dont get it by the 28 days chase it up.

    Will send my bill shortly:D:p

    Don't call me shortly
  • Advice please. I got this letter from LTSB when I got home tonight.
To deal with your case more quickly we have decided to make an ex-gratia offer to bring this matter to a speedy conclusion. We will ensure that you are put back to the same position you would have been in, had the PPI premium not been included with your credit card.

If you choose to except this offer we will pay the refund to the bank account of your choice.

If you have made a claim, it will be taken into account and deducted when calculating your refund.

If there is anything about our offer which you would like to clarify or if you think there is key information which we have not taken into account please contact us.

There is no mention of the amount involved anywhere on the letter or acceptance form. Over a six year period I paid £100 a month in PPI on my credit card, whatever offer they are thinking of making it is bound to be lower than I was expecting. There is no mention of any of the premiums I paid in this correspondence. This is wrong isn't it ? They are pulling a fast one. Why can't they just pay up what they owe me.

    Thoughts ? Advice ? HELP ?!!

    Hi there

    Well done on your success!

But you could email them to check on the offer, ask if this will also include interest and will they be following the guidelines of calculations like the Financial ombudsman service.

Normally they will send the breakdown in writing, but when you email them ask about this the same time, good luck.

I recently asked Egg to reduce my APR % as it was very high - going to look at switching. They declined even though I have a good credit rating.
So out of anger I wrote to them to claim back my PPI - within four days I was refunded £764 !
I have now written to all my previous lenders - even those with whom I had dealings with over six years ago. I may not be as lucky with some of them but it's definitely worth trying.

Well done on your for getting your own back. So they wouldn't reduce your APR but you got the last laugh:money: :T:T:T:T Good luck with the others

Hi. just to let readers know that I was successful in claiming back from a Yorkshire bank personal loan ppi. I was advised at the time that i should because of the size of the loan, without them asking about my sick pay etc. Anyway , the reason I wanted to post is that I got it despite having claimed on it twice, I thought this might jepordise my claim but obviously not!!

    Good for you. Congratulations.:T:T

Put in a complained with them on the 15th May, they acknowledged the complained on the 19th May. Received a letter yesterday off of them stating how sorry they are. They have looked at my policy and have found out that it is not appropriate for me. Basically they told me that if my marriage broke up then I would be covered. I have never been married.
The Redress team will now complete the relevant calculations. This should be done in the next 10 working days. A letter will be issued with the breakdown of any amounts payable.
I paid £12.12 on the PPI for 24 months.
No idea what I will get back, but this will be fantastic and pay for my 2 children's school uniforms as they are moving up to the big school. Thank you for all your support.
Forward now with three more claims. :):):)

    Brilliant...congratulatons:T:T:T:T

I have browsed this site for a couple of years now, and have known about the credit card & loan claimbacks for some time, but untill recently I was just to LAZY to rummage through all my old paperwork and see if I could find the details of a loan I had a couple of years back.

Until on the 02/06/11, I happened to find the loan agreement of a loan from the Alliance and Leicester i had taken out in march 03, a 5 year loan with PPI attached to it.
I read all the required posts, downloaded the form, photocopied the load agreement and posted it off, half expecting them to ignore me and brush me off as it was so long ago, and Santander had taken them over etc.

What a shock I got on saturday past (11/06/11) a letter from Santander offering to settle the total amount £868 + interest, Grand total of £1296.

I would just like to say a HUGE thankyou to all MSE forum contributers + Admins + Mods etc for keeping this site alive for lazy dopes like me, and for being there when I eventually got around to making the small effort required to claim my hard earned back from these corrupt bankers.

This money is going to go towards my wife and I going to Vegas next year to renew our wedding vows (I know cheesey or what!:D) But I have been finding it difficult to save the money we need for this, and this little windfall takes alot of pressure off us.

Thanks again MSE, and if your reading this and you hav'nt claimed back what you deserve please do it quick, its worth it

    Thanks again:j

    Hi All,

Just thought I would update you on my progress with NRAM (Northern Rock). Established a complaint with them over the phone, after 5 weeks got letter of offer, offer accepted.:j:j

Just chased acceptance and payment of offer- they say could take another 3 weeks for payment to reach me- not entirely happy about that!:mad:

    Anybody had a similar response?

Hi I had a very similar response.
It took a few weeks to get the money out of them - keep pestering them for updates as to when you will be paid.

It will come - well done to you!

P.S. I opted for the cheque which ,as someone else has advised, takes longer.
