PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Think this is the end of the road, sorry.
Unless you have a really good reason for not going to FOS at the time, you were in hospital etc.
I think this is out of order, people took the banks word that "you were not mis sold" and a lot did not carry this to the FOS.
I telephoned FOS the other day to enquire about this, after another poster asked the same thing, and the lady i spoke to just said you could try the claim again and if it is a "nice bank" they may just take this on board again.
Dont know what to say other than maybe give the bank a ring and tell them you are not happy as you trusted them and that is why you did not take it further at the time, and that you believed you were mis sold this ppi and you are disgusted that you have been treated this way.
This may not work (as to have guilt you have to have a conscience!!, that the "bankers" do not have i am afraid) but you will be no worse off by trying it.0 -

Rang the ombudsman who said to wait 8 weeks then get back in touch. She recieved a letter in March which I didn't know about with a photocopy of her original application form with a cross and her signature saying yes to ppi. They say she was aware of ppi and as such they were not accepting her claim and this was their final response. Now have passed on to the ombudsman on the grounds that she was sold this in a rushed manner by a sales assistant instore who had no training in advising her the correct things, such as ,would her employer pay her if she was off sick, did she have an medical conditions, and that she was free to buy ppi elsewhere if she wished. I know its probably going to take a while but its worth a go. I keep hearing on here about how quick and easy its been dealing with Santander but as regards store cards they seem to be being very difficult. I am at present waiting to hear back from Lloys about ppi on two credit cards. It was easy to set in motion as they have it all set up online how to claim. They say they will write to you to acknowledge your claim and give you a name and number of someone to contact if you need to, which they have done and they state they will deal with this within 8 weeks. So far its been 5 so fingers crossed. I will let you know if they honour this and whether I am succesful. I was with 2 ppi on two Lloyds loans so heres hoping!0

Anyone got any Idea on what the success rate is with reclaiming from the Co-Op Bank?
Has anyone had any recent success with them on this basis?0 -

Hiya
I am aware many have made reclaims against them, maybe not so often as you see with other banks, but still if you have a reclaim, then give it a go.
There is also a drop list on the Co op website of Q&A's in regards of complaints via PPI, check it out there as well, good luck.

Thought i'd let you all know that I received a letter from Black Horse today. They have decided to uphold my 2 complaints!
They haven't gave figures yet but basically said they would put me back in the position if I had not taken out PPI on both loans plus i'll get the 8% interest. I've had to sign the acceptance form and send it back. Then they said I will get my money and a breakdown of figures within 8 weeks. :j
Finally I feel like I am getting somewhere. 2 down, 4 to go!!
I'm over the moon! :j:j:j0 -
I read all the info on this site and asked my partner if she had PPI on her loan, when she checked the documents we noticed she had PPI. A rough calculation showed she had paid £1000 to them for a £5000 loan.
We sent of the forms and within 2 weeks we have received a reply and we have been offered £1,134.
Couldn't be happier, for only a 20 minutes work and the price of a stamp we have clawed back all of the of monies.
Now to move onto my accounts and fingers crossed it goes the same way.
Thanks to Moneysavingexpert and the users of this forum as it wouldnt have happened without you.0 -

Just phoned Santander. Told them that as per my letter it was unrealistic for them to expect the NI documents by 20th June as I was told it would take approx 4 weeks for them to reach me. Santander said that they have to set time limits and 'in their experience' 4 weeks from the date of their letter usually works. I went on to say, because of their requests NI must be receiving more requests for information therefore it will take them longer. Was told that if they have not received the information by 20th June the case will be closed:eek:. I would then need to go through the process of re-opening it. Sorry, but they are useless!

I find it absolutely outrageous that they can say you have to reply within 4 weeks, because that's their time limit, when the banks frequently go over the 8 weeks set by their regulatory body. It's disgusting. Perhaps you should remind them of that.
Keep at them...0
