Who did you email at HSBC? I complained in September, and am no further with progressing with mine at all, they keep telling me that they are waiting for FSA guidance on how long they have to deal with these complaints. I asked them instead of waiting for guidance on how long it should take, why dont they just deal with the backlog. She told me it didn't work like that.0 -

Wrote directly to First Plus - they refused to have anything to do with it - then wrote to FSO who said they had 'all information they needed from me' and would pursue the claim.
Numerous letters and over 3 years later FSO said they needed my ex husband signature - since he is now serving a 17 year prison sentence and is allowed no contact what so ever with me or my children I have no way of resolving this issue.
When I told FSO they had previously told me they had everything they needed and if they had asked for his signature at the outset of the claim I could have got it then, they basically said tough not there problem - no where to go from here and because he is in prison full responsibility of loan falls to me!!!!
Can you write to him or get someone to visit and take in the forms? this is really a shame as you will be persecuted with this loan to term end, as FP keep raising interest rates, and they dont need a reason to do this!!.
It would be in your best interests to try and get him to sign for this, there has to be a way.
If you win, then the ppi will come off the loan and your monthly payment will come down by the ppi monthly amount, this will save you thousands in interest.0 -
Hi there
I am so sorry to hear of your issues here.
Could you write to the Officer at the prison and explain you just require a signature from your husband in regards of a reclaim that have been going on for 3 years, and as its a joint matter you only require this so the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) can continue with the case.
Do you have a copy of the letter or email from the FOS about this, if not ask if they could send one so you can send a copy to the prison, but the only suggestion otherwise is to contact your local citizens advice who may be able to help on your behalf.
Hope this matter gets sorted, good luck to you.
If i were op i would put a complaint into the FOS about the FOS and how they did not pick up on this before now.0 -

Tbf, mbna did this to me, I just waited patiently and they contacted me telling me my claim was being upheld. One could presume you should hear from them soon though0 -
Letter from MBNA and they have finally cleared the balance of my account - some 3 weeks after I received the balance cheque. Better late than never!
Just rang RBS and they said they have staff working 24 hours a day and are taking on more to work through their backlog on hold from JR. I asked why they had made me an offer on a credit card claim, which was sent at a later date and was told that not all cases were held up. Funny that as exactly same reasons for mis-selling and cc was taken out in 2002. Loans, both front loaded as well as other issues were from 2004 and 2006.
Said it could be at least a few months before I can expect to hear anything.0 -

Hi, i emailed the ceo at chiefexecutivehsbcbank@hsbc.com , i explained that i thought i had been more then fair with the amount of time i had waited for a response to my complaint and i played a bit on the financial hardship card, i just explained that this was my money that had been taken from me and i also mentioned that if was ever late with my loan payment, they would ring me over and over again until they had their money so why should i treat them any differently to how they treated me! I got a standard reply the firt time, telling me it had been passed to the relevant department but 24 hours later i still had no contact so i emailed again asking why if i had emailed the ceo of HSBC directly was my complaint being passed to another department in HSBC who had already had my complaint for nearly 9 months? I asked if the ceo or someone in his office would be reading my complaint and 30 minutes after i sent that email i was called from the claims department and told i would have a written answer with in 10 working days. This was thursday last week, i called yesterday to check that it was on its way and i wa told my response was with the ceo to be signed off and i would have my letter by early next week. Today the same lady i had been dealing with called me and gave me the details of the letter, my complaint was upheld and the amount i am due back.
I honestly think that it is all down to asking why the ceo was not dealing with my complaint.
Hope this helps.0 -

Had 2 letters from Santander today. One in reply to mine stating it would take a while to obtain information from HMRC, they replied stating my complaint is being dealt with.
The other states that I have until 20th June to forward information requested on National Insurance otherwise the case will be closed.
There is no way HMRC will send me the information before 20th June.
I intend phoning Santander tomorrow.

I sent off a template explaining that it wasn't explained that the insurance was optional on my telephone application (when they called me) and that the full policy wasn't explained properly.
They have now written back to me explaining that the PPI wasn't added at application so they weren't going to look into this any further and to go away. They also sent me the application form and security details of a completely different customer!
I contacted them and the first thing they said was that they couldn't tell on their system when or how it was added to my account but the first CSR of the call said it had been on my account since application, when I questioned this (and the other persons personal data) she put me on hold to speak to her supervisor who then took the call. She had a similar stance on not seeing when/how it was added but after inspecing my statements said it was showing on my second statement which was in June 2002. I was told if I still wasn't happy with their investigation to write back in. When I brought up the other custs personal details she said it was a mistake and not to worry about it and just send it back...I don't think so! How do I know that they've not sent my details to random other people? I don't and she couldn't see why I was unhappy about this.
I have sent them a letter explaining that I am still unhappy and asking for proof that the policy wasn't mis-sold (which is what they said in their letter) and that I was made aware of the full policy details. I also asked what to do with the other persons details (including the details of the claims management company she is using) and I am waiting a response.
First of all has anyone had any sucess with cap 1 after they turn down the first letter and what does everyone think I should do about the details of the other person?
Also has anyone got any suggestions on a good way of taking this forward or am I doing the right thing so far?
Thanks in advance
In regards to your being sent someone else details, might be worth checking with the Information Commisoners Office, they might have failed the Data Protection Act by sending the details to you. Someone else may be able to confirm this. Thanks to all the competition posters.0
