just rang santander basicly they told me that i would need to get evidence that i wasnt paying national insurance on the 12th of september 1996 i asked if they knew how long it would take to get this information and she told me that she beleives it takes a VERY LONG TIME!!! so i said so what happens after the four weeks ive got to get back to you with this she said if i cant get the information by the dead line the complaint will be closed but she said i can re open the complaint and they would treat this as a new one,so what does this mean id have to fill out the questionair all over again!!! and then it will be another 8 weeks b4 they get back to me!!! grrrr

    Hiya

That's a new on one me  ask them to send this in writing, as not many get the opportunity to have their re-opened.
If you have a copy of the original questionnaire, keep hold of that one.
I do hope you manage to gt hold of the details you need, and hopefully it will not take a very long time like she said. x

just rang hm revenue and customs they were very helpful and she could see that i wasnt paying national insurance back in 96 but she said i have to request a sar to get the information in writing i asked her how long this might take she said it takes up to 3 weeks to filter through their mail system (3 WEEKS!!!) and then she couldnt say how long it would take once it got to the right person,so i doubt im going to make the 4 week dead line requested by santander!! do you think it would be worth me writing to santander teeling them all the information about me resquesting a sar and asking them to extend the dead line of closing the complaint? i really dont want to have to fill out all the forms again and wait another 8 weeks :(

    Hiya

Yes contact them and tell them you've been in touch with the business in regards of your nat insurance, and they will be sending the details you require, but confirmed this can take at least 3 weeks, hopefully they will arrive back just on time, you could always pop into your local Santander and ask them to send to the relevant dept for you dealing with your complaint, they can do this by faxing the info through.;)

    Hi All,

Just thought I would go through all my current PPI claims with various companies.

Two say they will not uphold my complaint-sent them off to FOS now waiting on them.

Rang them all up (12 in total)-Still awaiting 8 weeks on pretty much all of them. But I have been informed I will be receiving an upheld letter from Nram (formerly Northern Rock) in the near future for PPI on two loans, very pleased could be in receipt of some extra cash very soon.

They said they were working on the figures I would be repaid from two initial loans of £4500 & £6000-(any help on calulations would be appreciated) Looking forward to the post everyday at the moment!:rotfl::rotfl::D:D:money:

    Hi there

Wow, well done on your success and all the best with the others too.

Hope the FOS resolves those two as well, fingers crossed.

Looks like some money to come back to you :T, although I'm not the one for calculations, hopefully someone will be along soon to help on this for you, good luck.

I wrote to MBNA about a year ago giving details as to how I believed I had been miss-sold PPI. I have just received a refund for £7500!
The first response from them was to send me a form asking for a lot of information I did not have - it had been 8 to 10 years when I first opened a credit card a/c with them. I replied repeating all that I knew but did not fill the form in (it looked unreasonably complicated and designed to be off putting).
They offered me an amount which I felt was not good enough. However I did not reject nor accept the offer. I replied asking them to breakdown their figures and explain how the final figures were arrived at. They sent me a revised offer, to which I replied in the same vein.
A short while ago they informed me that due to a legal judgement they were holding my claim in abeyance until the case had been heard.
Finally, after the publicised court case, they came back to me with the above offer as set out by the ombudsman.
I have used the cheque to clear and close the MBNA account, and for the first time in 15 years owe nobody nothing:j!! (Apart from the mortgage).
 Well done to you :money:

Get your letter for sar off to ni, i think the bank is hoping that people will get fed up and leave this, dont let this bother you as you are able to redo the claim again so you are only waiting longer, and you never know they may have speeded the claims up by then.

The ni may not take as long as you were told so you will have to wait.
There would be no point taking this to FOS as they will want the same info as the bank.
Did you photocopy your original claim form? this makes it easier than doing it again.
    Hang on in there.

right so ive rung santander back and asked about the whole 4 weeks until the case is closed but i can reopen it,chap said yes if i dont feel like they have delt with it properly i can re open the case once i have the new evidence i asked if there was any way i could have this in writing and he asked if i was sent the santander complaints form which i had been sent (but i told him i hadnt) it doesnt says anything on there about being able to re open the case only that if im not satisfied i can take it to the fos but really dont want to go down that route as it will take longer, he tried to ring the woman who is dealing with my case and she is going to ring me back to dicuss it and also write some thing down for me so its in black and white that i can re open if i run out of time, sent of a letter by recorded delivery to santander explaining that i was single and had no partner and was not working but in full time education i also copied all my college certificates with dates on and added them into with the letter and finaly told them that i would like my dead line increased explaining that i had sent off a sar to hm revenue but it might take longer than 4 weeks to get the information back.

have also sent off a sar to hm revenue requesting info on national insurance payments
