Well what can I say...thank you Martin Lewis!!!
I watched you saying about claiming ppi so many times, and if I'm honest thouht no such thing as free money. Well how wrong could I be.!!!

So in summary my story. Had MBNA cc since 2000. Always used it for day to day living and run up high balances 10k plus, every few years. but always paid it off as had shares and other income every few years that enabled me to do so. After hearing all thus fuss checked my paperwork and had been paying ppi. Never needed it as self employed and had other policy's, shares etc to always pay off.

So I set one letter last year. Like most was put on hold due to court action. Recived letter last week saying they can now proceeds my complaint and had upheld it in my favour and will contact me.

Got letter this morning......so turns out I have paid £11000 in ppi and £13000 in Intrest, plus standard 8% Intrest on it= £ 25000!!!

Yes £25000 to be re-paid to me!!!

It took me 1 letter, 1 form to fill and £1.00 postage...to get £25000!!! Not a bad return.:j

Thank you forum and thank you Martin Lewis!!!

Holy Moly!!! - you got me excited now - I am in a very similar position re timescales and balance etc.
Mine was on hold and I am still waiting for an update.
Gives me a bit of hope does this.

WELL DONE YOU !

Hiya

To what I know of they were now continuing to investigate complaints from date of order.
Will try to find the CEO details for you (Chief Executive officer) and post them up to you if i come across them.;)

Editing.....

As promised.

managingdirectoruk@hsbc.com

Contact the above, he is the CEO/Managing director, tell him your not happy with being told different dates and still nothing done since your complaint have been with them, good luck.

Again I am in a similar position to you with HSBC - I have been given the run around by them since last September.
They will lie to you and use every trick in the book to delay dealing with you.

I have emailed the MD earlier this week - but have had no reply as yet.

This is also a long standing credit card with a high balance and PPI that I didnt need nor could claim on.
(Smaller claim for 'front loaded ' PPI also with them)

I wish you all the best - DONT give up !

Hi, i have just had a call from hsbc and someone in the ppi department has now been assigned to my claim, she told me that i will have a decision in the next 10 working days, if i am successful i will just have to sign a form and fingers crossed i might have my money back by the end of the month!

I emailed the ceo yesterday and again today to say i had still not heard and then less than an hour later i had a call which i am sure i would not have had if i hadnt sent the emails so just keep sending them until you get some aknowledgement from the right department! fingers crosssed x

Well done to you for persisting.
I too am going to follow your tack and email him daily.

Matty.

• What were you reclaiming: PPI against a loan
• Who was the provider: Alliance & Leicester (now Santander)
• How much did you get back?: Almost £6800 - which consists of all monies paid plus 8%
• Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:? Letter
• And then write your brief reclaim tale: Used the template letter from this site, got a prompt response via telephone stating we had a case & that it was being passed to a "handler", few days later received a letter with a formal offer & breakdown explaining how the figure had been reached. This process was so simple it was almost sublime, so my advice would be to give it a go yourself & don't use any of the companies that offer to do this for you - they'll take a chunk of your cash (sometimes up to 25%) for doing so! Had to bring the Mrs down to earth as she thought we'd won the lottery, when really it's our money that we never should have paid in the first place, although a 8% return is arguably better than if it had been stuck in a savings account!!

• PPI reclaim from Capital One

Wrote to them, they responded and after some 12 weeks I was offered £2476 in full settlement. I accepted and this amount was credited to my credit card account. Whew! Thanks MoneySaving expert.

Good morning all,

I have recieved a letter from the FSCS advising that my provider has gone into default, unfortunatly i started this application in may 2010 so still waiting (and for my own sins used a broker/agent, i know i know!!! although they have been a little useless, no contact with me, always having to contact them---can i use their name???) they've advised me 8 weeks, so we'll see.
I have done a further 2 myself,so i'm learning!!!

just keep you updated

A big well done to everyone who has won their case and an even bigger well done to Di :Awho has helped me out a lot. A big Woop Woop me thinks!!!:T:T:T
