PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Some 18 months ago we heard via Martins email shots about reclaiming mis-sold PPI & decided some months later to give it a go,my wife was the one who took out the personal loans over a period of years & it was the PPI on these loans that we were attempting to reclaim,I'd done a rough calculation that the sum reclaimed could be as much as £4500,we were reclaiming on the grounds of PPI being misold due to the fact that my wife got paid when off sick etc & that of pressure selling. We followed Martins guide & sent off the relevant information for reclaiming on 3 loans dating back some 10 years to the Clydesdale banking Group, the loans were taken out with Yorkshire Bank,we received a reply some 3 weeks later or so that the information had been received & that they would be in touch but may take longer than the "8 weeks" reply period that they have due to the influx of claims. We took them at their word & left it up to them to get in touch. Half forgetting & half being too busy to chase it up we left it for around 6 months before getting in touch with them again with a letter saying that we hadn't heard from them & it was now over 6 month since their last communication & when would we be hearing something, but telling them that we had also passed in all information to the "Ombudsman" . Within 3 weeks we got a reply which included offers of settlement on all 3 claims . The total sum that they were offering including interest was over £8600 ,far more than we ever imagined we would get offered, you can guess what we did I suppose . 3 weeks later the money was transferred to my wifes account. A massive success & so easy to do following Martins guide. If you believe you have a claim don't hesitate , get in there & reclaim the PPI you may be entitled to get back.0

I called again yesterday and they took all the details down and called me this morning to say that they will be refunding all of the premiums + 8%!!! - Santander really seem to be churning out their complaints at record speed!!!
Congratulations and well done for getting on to them. Yes they seem to be running scared now ...obviously dont want to get into any more trouble:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks hun, it was a lovely surprise.
Yes I would have been stumped & surprised if they did not uphold, because they did uphold 4 of them last year, for the same reasons. Xx:A
Your welcome hun. I think we would have all been there with you hammering on the door if they hadn't coughed up for you. xxx:DFootiemad:footie: 2013 - SPC no.1147...Keeep potting!!

As I'm off work today I got stuck into my paperwork. I completed the questionaire re: Nationwide loan & sent a 'Copy of Agreement' form to A&L.
Then I came across a letter received months ago from Swinton about PPI payments added to policies I took out 4 years ago for car & home insurance. It told me to ring them so I did expecting them to tell me 'too late, you should have made contact months ago' but instead I spoke to a guy who asked me my name and address & then whether or not I knew anything about the PPI added to my insurance. 'ERR No!' says I. 'OK' says he 'well we took £45.00 for the 3 policies so I will send you a refund of £52.50 by cheque today' 'Thank you very much!' says I & hung up. :j MY first attempt at getting something back & a result!! (albeit a small one!). Would be nice to think the rest could be as easy.
I've only just discovered this thread but thanks to the knowledge I've gained already I feel confident enough to give this a go. Thanks to all who take the time and effort to contribute & share their wisdom!0 -

Congratulations! a nice surprise and your £52.50 better off.
My son taken his car insurance out with Swinton back about 3 years ago, may check his paperwork, he's no longer with them, but nothing will surprise me if he was also mis sold.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
The number I rang today was 0800 912 8157 (office hours) and as I say i didn't even have to make a claim, it was all there on the screen apparently. Think this is a dedicated line for such queries so it might be worth just ringing.0
