Thanks Di,did previously post up my own thread about it,but thought better to add in here too.Any idea what the timescale of payment could be?

It may vary from one business to another, mine with Lloyds last year was about 28 days, I have just had another 2 upheld with them now, and sent both acceptances in the post via recorded delivery today, so I will give them a week or 2, and if I've not heard I will ask them when should i be receiving the refunds.
Some banks could take as little as 2 weeks.

Hope your not waiting too long, fingers crossed.;)

Thought I may as well add my success story with HFC BANK-currently have a loan for about 1200 quid with PPI which was about a tenner a month or thereabouts dating back to 2002.Used the template form here and sent by recorded delivery on 9th May,received standard acknowledgement of receipt a week later.Received a letter yesterday upholding my appeal and refunding just over 4 grand-all I had to do was send back a form of acceptance and the money will be credited to my bank account, hopefully it wont take too long for that.
Was amazed at how quickly it was dealt with to be honest-expected at least 6 weeks.
Still got a couple other complaints in,but yet to hear anything back yet.
Couldnt have come at a better time as overtime is scarce just now and things are a bit tiight.
:j:j Well done :money: they are churning these "wins" out thick and fast now :rotfl::rotfl: about time :p

Just received a response from Santander Cards for a Store card with PPI sold to me in a store by some untrained Shop Assistant back in 2000.

Santander state that they are rejecting my complaint as they always ensure the customer is kept informed, but how could they as I have the original application and it was with GE Capital bank then?

Also noticed that it was an 'express' application section B was never completed which asks me if I am employed. It also does not state it is optional and that I could cancel it. Also only covers single applicant when both applied, oh dear looks like a win, win for me after a wait ,wait with the FOS.

So it's off to the FOS with two complaints now, all in one day, I have been a busy Bee!:)

    Hi there

    Good point.
Have they given you the final decision?
Or given you the opportunity to go back to them with further information?

Santander say it's final, I disagree. It's not final until the FOS say so...:D

    Hello,
I also had a letter from Santander today regarding a Monsoon Store card I took out in 2003 and paid off in 2008.
I stated I was not in full time employment at the time and they have asked me to send evidence from the Inland Revenue ( a copy of National Insurance Contributions ) . They also went onto to say the the Insurance is the 'Breadwinners ' policy and I need to send a copy of my partners Insurance contributions over that period. The card was in my name only, nothing to do with my husband who was and is self-employed.
They went on to say I have 4 weeks to send them this information.
I am baffled by this. Has anyone else had something similar ?
    Many thanks
    Kay

    Hi Kay

Some time ago I remember reading something similar.

Just a thought but wonder if tax credit will hold any details going back as far as that.
Another suggestion is to contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and tell them what the bank/business is expecting of you, and see what they suggest.
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx

To expand on this for more feedback, please also post on a separate new thread, its still within these reclaiming threads, but this way you will possibly get more advice with a bit of luck.
New thread for you hear to post........

I was coming to the end of a loan for £25k and after all the random phone calls asking if i've been mis-sold PPI then after checking a few websites i thought i may have a claim. I was so tempted to take the easy route and use a third party to claim for me (around 20% of the claim going to them if i win. some were more)
Then I read through Martins advice and thought, this sounds too easy, what the hell are people using a third party. to cut a long story short I got a letter of them today offering me a £6500 refund including 8% interest (loan via HFC). took 4 weeks start to finish having sent 1 letter.

they even looked into a previous loan with them without asking.

Please don't use third parties, I suspect in time they will automatically refund without request. Its your money, you deserve it back!

Thanks Martin and the experts on here.
