Just had a call from Halifax regarding my PPI complaint, and all they wanted to know was whether I was paying NI when I took out the loan (I was).... is this a good or bad sign?! I did detail about my employer at the time on the questionnaire so it's a bit confusing, but hoping for a result as this is an old loan paid off about 5 years ago! They said they couldn't give me an idea of timescales on a response to my complaint and that was all they wanted to know, anyone else had that?!

    Hiya

I can't see it being a problem, but please do post and ask this on a separate thread as well, so someone will know the answer to this one, good luck.
    Post to separate/new thread here.

    • What were you reclaiming: credit card
    • Who was the provider: Barclaycard
    • How much did you get back: £3012.13
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After a letter
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale: I've had the card since 1994 and not realised what I was paying for exactly....shame on me!!!I first wrote to Barclaycard in October last year, lots of to-ing and fro-ing until 2 weeks ago I was told it was on hold. Received a letter today with the above offer and have decided to accept seeing as I was only expecting about a quarter of that back!!!

:money:I've just return my Acceptance form back to Northern Rock for £5178, I can't believe it, and it's all down to Martin Lewis and the regulars on here "Dizzy Di" and "Robbedofmymoney" they have advised me well so "thank you Guys".

It does say on the form that I have to let Inland Revenue know as it could be Taxable ?? Does anyone know anything about this ??

if you pay tax you would be liable for a tax payment on the 8% interest amount only at your standard tax rate,

it is down to you to notify the tax office of this amount so thay can get the tax off you. (your choice if you tell them).

but they may find out at a later date and chase you for it them.

not sure what the 8% portion is and what your liability on that amount is as don't know your circumstances.

well done on getting a nice amount of your money back:j:beer:
