Hey there, long time lurker, first time poster.

    • What were you reclaiming: HSBC Personal Loan PPI
    • Who was the provider: HSBC
    • How much did you get back: £5300 in PPI payments and interest, totalling £6300-ish!
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Template letter, six weeks waiting, result!
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale: As a serving soldier, they sold me PPI that I could most likely never actually claim against unless I died, according to a legal-type friend of mine. I found the site here, sent the template letter and the rest is history!
If you are reading this and wondering if you could get back your mis-sold PPI, then look into it! You might get some good news!

    Regards,

    Shane

  • Hi all :)

After living with debt for almost 10 years, I finally sent a letter regarding the PPI to Santender and today, two weeks later, I received a letter to say they agreed I was misold PPI and have agreed to refund me £7,726 !!:j Im so thrilled, I really didnt expect to hear anything for months! Now Im hoping I can offer them a full and final settlement and get rid of the loan for good - thanks Martin and everyone else on here for all the helpful tips.

It does mention in my letter that 'the interest payment has been paid gross and is potentially taxable, therefore you may need to inform the Inland Revenue of this amount' - has anyone else had this response?

    Thanks

after waiting since Jan for my ppi claim to be looked into by RBS,just received this email from them" Following the Judicial Review we are in discussions with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in regard to how we will progress PPI claims. Once this has been clarified our PPI Claims team will contact you in order to process your claim."cant tell if this is yet another stalling tactic or has anyone else had a similar response.
Keep up the good fight and good luck to all who are in the same situation.:)

    Hi there

As far as i know the banks know what to do and the FSA expect them to continue with complaints for as soon as possible, you could contact the FSA to have this clarified, see what they say, and if they say they should be getting on with them, tell the bank you have made contact with the FSA, this may make them shift a little, good luck.;)

    Well done on your win:beer::beer:
The tax part means that if the interest payment takes you over your tax allowance for the year then you have to pay tax on this.

    Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone has had a response from F Plus. Since receiving my third letter at the begining of Dec 2010, stating my claim was on hold until the the JR, I have heard nothing, although they stated they would keep me updated!
Any advice whether I should chase F Plus or just go to FOS.
    Many Thanks,
    Trigspur
