Hi there, What have they said to you about this and have they said you cannot put a claim in for mis sell?.This should be dealt with the same as the mis sell for the loan, i dont know why they cannot do this.

Thanks Di but i have had no dealings with EGG (fortunately):rotfl::rotfl:

  • Thanks amersall!

Egg told me they would have to wait to issue a standard response to my complaint, I asked if this meant a standard letter to go to the FOS, they said Yes. Wasn't sure if this is a standard stalling tactic or to do with the account now being handled by Apex?

They aren't being as bad as Marbles though, who told me on the phone that they don't have anything to do with PPI and would have to deal with another bank, that bank then laughed and told me to tell Marbles to investigate it themselves! Spoke to the FOS and they said to send in the complaint as it is obviously not being investigated properly!

Agh, would just like them sorted! Thanks for any advice, the forums are a greatly appreciated source of info

Hi all just to share my success story.

After fighting since September with AvailableCar.com and Black Horse I was recently refunded all my PPI payments plus interest.

Kept fighting all the way along, logging all calls and all information I was told and sent, and finally have a good outcome.

    Good luck all!

  • As an avid follower of MSE, I decided it was high time I tried to reclaim PPI that was mis-sold to me several years ago.

I took out a loan back in 2005, on the understanding that it would be approved IF and only if, I took out the PPI cover!

Being young and naive at the time I accepted.

However, as I've grown up and discovered MSE I realised that I had wasted money on a product that I didn't need or really want!

I wrote to Egg a few months ago, using the Martin's letter template, and after several "we're still dealing with your complaint" letters, I finally recieved a letter in February telling me that my complaint was upheld, but the refund owed to be could not be calculated until the government's judicial review had been completed!

I was pleased that I would be getting some money back, but not too excited that I didn't know how much, or when.

So imagine my surprise when only a few weeks later another letter arrives, telling me that "after further investigation" they were refunding the cost of my PPI premium PLUS contractual interest!

They sent me a lovely cheque for £989! :j

Thanks MSE Team for giving me the bottle to actually do it!
