well i called the local welcome finance office today who are very good they said that they have got a reply from their head office stating that i have to write a letter to them regarding the ppi and that they would then put the money into the bank ! i have also recieved a letter from the fos stating that they have written to them regarding the matter however, if i do not hear from the business within the next few days after receiving our letter you may wish to contact welcome finance mentoning that we have written to them it should issue a final response in writing within 8 weeks of the date it receives the complaint.
here is a copy of the letter im sending to welcome finance head office let me know what you think.
I was extremely disappointed because your service has not performed as it should, when applied for my refund of ppi and granted it by your company after over a three month wait. According to your records the box was ticked to ensure payment of my ppi refund was paid against my loan with welcome finance when I was expecting the funds to be pain into my bank account as expected. when prompted to send my bank details on the acceptance form, as I did not want my refund to be paid of my current loan I did not tick the box that was present I believe this box was ticked fraudulently and will be taking further action if this is not resolved in my favour. This was totally wrong because I had contacted your head office and spoke to a colleague of yours and she stated nothing about the funds being paid of the loan I was advised that the funds will be paid in to my bank account after a 17 day period after the accepted offer.
To resolve the problem I would appreciate immediate payment of the exact funds that are owed me as promised of my ppi refund the action I require from you is a full refund, into my bank account as follows.
I look forward to hearing from you and to a resolution of this problem. I will wait for one week from the above date for the final payment to be deposited into my bank account as I have already sought help from the financial ombudsman service. Please contact me at the above address or by phone0 -
Had cheques for PPI refunds Capital One £1049-47 and HFC £352-77 which I put through NatWest door the middle of last week with a paying in slip,
No sign of the cheques being paid into my account. I have tried ringing to speak to someone at the branch and all I get is a call centre that sends on a message. They told me at 11am someone would get back to me within 3 hours. Haven't heard anything despite several phone calls.
Don't you just love banks and Natwest! Wanted to use it to clear a credit card but now will get charged interest. I feel another letter coming on. Rant over.0 -

Hi there
So sorry to hear your still waiting for your money, I would try to find out who the chief executive officer (CEO) and write to them if you can, good luck and hope your not waiting much longer now, fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I have had a second reply from RBS stalling as expected.
After registering my complaint over the telephone, I recieved an initial letter saying they were investigating. Then 8 weeks letter I got a letter saying that because of the court case that is on-going, my claim was on hold.
After seeing various people on here saying that they have hassled the bank with letters and being offered payment I thought I would reply to them offering them the opportunity to settle the matter without the need of the FOS.
Today I got a second letter from RBS saying that they feel they are in the right by refusing to settle my claim until the outcome from the court case is known. Grrrrr.
My question is what should I do now? Some people seem to have had success by responsing direct to the bank in the first instance. I see I have 3 probable options:
1. Reply directly to the bank again asking for a simple resolution.
2. Take my case to the FOS.
3. Wait for the court case to be finished.
What should I do?
Thanks in advance.0 -

Hi Nick
Good luck with this, but only you can decide in where you want to take this now.
Mine is still sitting with the bank and have been since before Xmas, but am only giving them until over Easter, then if nothing have been sorted by then, its off to the FOS with my last 2 with them.
However, I did email and ask for an update last week and they did say to expect a letter update around the 16 March, so that is tomorrow, will see what they say and let you know.
Hope this is resolved for you very soon, fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

:j I cannot thank MSE and all of it's members enough for giving me the encouragement to take on Egg. I topped up my Egg loan in July 2006 and was told at the time that I had to take out PPI, as a naieve person, and in a somewhat desparate financial situation, I agreed.
I then read all of the posts, yes all of them! to see whether it was worth challenging Egg, as I am never lucky enough to get my money back. I took the plunge at the beginning of this year and this is what happened...
I wrote to Egg on 14 January, sending the PPI questionnaire with all the information I had about my loan.
Received acknowledgement letter of my complaint from Egg a week later
4 weeks after my complaint they wrote again advising they were still investigating
Yesterday, and 2 days before the 8 week deadline, I received a letter advising my complaint had been upheld and a cheque for £6500.
You have no idea what this money means to me, and now it has given me the confidence to take on Barclays and Capital One for rate-jacking me!
I have so much respect for you all, and thank you once again for giving me the confidence to beat the nasty banks!! xx
