Just an update, I had a very black and white case with MBNA, I ticked that I didn't want PPC (a clear tick on the credit agreement) and they added it anyway, saying that I had to have it. I sent my FOS questionnaire off in August and MBNA stalled the process all the way until October where they stated I had to wait to the result of the JR. I sent my paperwork off to the FOS.
I had a moment of madness last week and emailed MBNA that I couldn't understand how they could not refund my particular case as it was so straight forward and I produced good evidence.
Nearly fainted just now, looked at my account and they have credited it with nearly £4000 (no interest added, but I won't moan as it would have taken months to a year or more to have gone through the ombudsman). This has reduced my payments greatly :T
Thank you to Di, Amersall et al.......couldn't have done it without you.
Now why don't you reply saying:
"Thank you for refunding the money for the PPI that I had not asked for. I notice that you have not refunded the interest. Clearly there has been a mistake. Please credit my account with the interest within the next fourteen days, or write to me with your reasons why you are not crediting me, so that I can forward this on to the Ombudsman."0 -

Thanks. Yes I will sit it out a little longer if still nothing then I will give them a call. So when did you first makes your claims? Sorry about all the questions, just curious as to where mine are in the queue!
No worries, sorry for not responding sooner....my initial letters were sent in September, but I did follow up with a few (very polite) chasers.0 -
Hi Everyone
Sorry to ask the obvious but I'm unsure who I should actually be sending my reclaim letter to.
Is it to the bank / credit card company direct, and if so which department?
or
Is it to the company who controls the actual PPI in my case a company called 'Card Protection Plan'?
or have I got my wires completely crossed
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya
Sorry for the delay in replying.
LOL, I know what you mean.:D;)
I would ask them if they could give you some sort of timescale, tell them how it is and ask if they could e-mail back with some sort of date.
Good luck x:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Simon
Don't worry, its best to make sure you get it right first time.
Send to whoever set up your account but to their head office, or if they have a complaints dept send to them.
So basically if the bank set up your account you pursue them.
Hope this helps, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

wow! well done! :T that has given me renewed hope as i have contacted Halifax regarding a loan from 9 years ago, which they even admitted over the phone was missold as they split the loan into 3 (for no reason!) and charged me separately. when i wrote to them though they just said it was on hold until the result of the review, i called and got a earful of 'don't expect anything, we won't be giving refunds to anyone'! i have sent the forms in to the FO but don't expect anything much to happen!
just wanted to ask a separate question that i can't seem to find the answer to, i have sent a complaint letter to egg for a credit card, they have paid out without question on a loan but won't respond on the card, would this be because the debt was sold on to Apex?
thanks for the help!0 -
Have received an offer from Santander regarding a loan that I had PPI on for a year before I cancelled it. Offer is for £689 which includes 8% interest, am assuming that their figure is correct! Will be accepting it today.
So far successes:
£260 - Natwest
£760 - Natwest
£689 - Santander
Thanks for you help!0
