hi can anyone tell me if they recieve a confirmation of receipt when sending a letter to halifax regarding ppi credit card?i havent i was going to ring them also but i dont have a number can anyone help.thanks
Hi there
How long ago did you send the letter?
They have 8 weeks to give a decision as a normal timescale, some banks will acknowledge after a week or 2, maybe someone who have dealt with these direct will post of their own experience with them, good luck on your reclaiming.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there,
I have got PPI claims in progress with my Halifax credit card and loan. I sent the questionnaires off about a month ago and within just over a week I received replies for both of them to say they are looking into my complaints. Yes you should ring them and chase them up. I think the complaints telephone number is 08457 25 35 19. Let us know how you get on0 -

I have just been refunded from Barclays Bank just under 2000 pound for the PPI insurance on a loan I had. The loan itself was only for 6000.
I was not working at the time I took out the loan and so could never have claimed. I told the lady in the bank this during the application and she just said I couldn't have the loan without the PPI. I used the template given on this site, filled in all of the details, photcopied all of my documents and took it all into my Barclays branch where I had taken out the loan.
Ten weeks later and I have been given my money back as well as the interest that was added on to the PPI as it was all added onto my loan. I didn't even have to go any further than the first letter to Barclays.
Obviously I am very pleased with this outcome and would recommend to everyone to do the same and see how you get on.
I only went ahead with my claim as I had seen other people had succeeded and due to information I had read on this site as well as the templates - so thanks Martin and team !!!!!!!!0 -

Hi there
I believe the rules are the same for all loans, personal and business and also aware there have been success in reclaiming ppi from business loans.
I would try to make a reclaim with your reasons, don't worry about the paperwork at this point anyway, and just complete the reclaiming questionnaire on stage one here.
Send a completed copy to the head office of whoever sold you the account, or the complaints dept if they have one, and keep another copy back for yourself and any letters you receive in case you need to go back to this again.
They have 8 weeks but may ask for more time, but should keep you informed of your progress of your complaint.
Good luck.
Thanks for the reply, I have sent a request for the insurance and loan details as we never received this from the start and I am going to try get something back. Have looked around the internet forums and came across a few cases of business being told they would not get the loan if they did not take out the insurance.....All Lloyds TSB!! I will keep you updated, thanks again.0 -
Hi and welcome
May I first ask if the bank had given a final decision?
If not then maybe you could challenge this again yourself.
Yes that is correct what the company had told you and there is a case starting from next week, but how long it will take to resolve we do not know yet.
There is more on the FSA site below.
Also check the threads out as well, you will find lots who have made reclaims are in the position of having their cases put in hold, some have also been resolved in their favour, but had to wait for their payouts.
I really do not know what will become of this but hope it will not be bad news.
I don't think it will be anything like the bank charges issues, but again anything can happen i suppose, but lets hope not.
Good luck on your reclaiming and ask for help if you decide to want to take this up again without using a claims company.
I assume they have made you aware that if your successful, they will be entitled to so much of your refund?
Thanks for your reply. I think I will try again myself even though there is a court case pending as I am hoping that the fact the form was I believe filled out fraudulantly and this might be a different case. Also the claim company would be taking 25%. Just as a small point if I do it myself would the claims company have any complaint against me as they did say in their letter to tell them if the bank tries to settle without them knowing or are they just wanting their commission? I have not signed any forms or anything with them just sent a letter with the details and explanation asking if they could help. Thanks again.0
