PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi all.
....
Here are the results so far...LloydsTSB have upheld the claim from my loan as it was added automatically when I applied for the loan online. They have yet to get back to me about the Credit Card claim. I'm assuming they're putting it off due to the current situation with the courts. And Santander have declined my claim. Here are the particulars of each:
LLOYDSTSB CREDIT CARD PPI
· MSE questionnaire sent to LLoydsTSB 09/09/2010
· Acknowledgement letter received 18/09/2010 dated 15/09/2010
· Letter received 08/11/2010 – no decision made yet – still investigating......
Just wanted to update you. Managed to speak to LloydsTSB about my credit card PPI and they have decided to uphold my claim :T
Apparently they sent me the letter dated 12th Jan, informing me of their decision. As seen as I haven't received it, I've asked for it to be re-posted and hopefully I'll receive it in the morning and stick the reply straight back in the post
Some nice extra savings for my house deposit, woo hoo :money:0 -

Hi all,
After hearing about all this ppi claiming i thought what the hell there's a few old accounts that i had some years ago (egg, northern rock, leeds building society and lloyds) that may be worth a phone call.
Was off work that day, early december, bored, so i made calls to all of these and asked the question, did i have ppi on these accounts? the answer was yes to all. I never asked for ppi due to the fact that i'm a type 1 diabetic. Anyway, got claims going off with all and had a letter back from Egg yesterday stating that my claim had been upheld but they are waiting for this decision in court between the FSA and the BBA
because they don't know how to calculate my refund.
I have informed them that i am now moving on and informing the FOS
about the claim.
Lets see what happens.0 -

Hi and welcome
And good luck on your reclaim.
I know there are lots in the same position as you and its difficult to predict who will be quicker, some will sit back a little longer to see if anything happens in the near future and some moved on to the FOS, but its your decision of course.
Fingers crossed anyway and please keep us posted, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

When i got home last night egg had replied to our offer of acceptance via the ombusdman, they had until the 8th of feb to reply.
The ombudsman had withheld our complaint that when egg refunded us the ppi from our loan they should have also included 8% interest and £200 compensation and loan recalculated.
Our refund therefore is
interest on net payments at 8% simple interest (from the date of each loan repayment made) £1479
additional compensation £200
cheque attached to the letter for £1679
our balance on the loan is £1841 so we just need to pay £162 and thats the loan clear, i cant tell you how overjoyed we are, this will save us £451 per month. Thank you all for your encouragment good advice and friendship
congratulations :T :T :T :beer:Footiemad:footie: 2013 - SPC no.1147...Keeep potting!!

Hi all.
I've just joined the forums tonight so I could share with you my PPI successes and failures. I've been saving for a deposit for a house since summer 2009 and turned to MSE (thanks to my boyfriend's advice) to get some tips of how else I can save some pennies.
After reading about PPI reclaiming on here and how easy it seemed to be, I decided to check up on my loans and credit cards and see if I had any I could reclaim. I used the MSE Questionnaire template and sent it to LloydTSB for a £1500 loan and credit card and another to Santander for a £3000 loan.
· Letter received 08/11/2010 – no decision made yet – still investigating
LLOYDSTSB LOAN PPI
· MSE questionnaire sent to LloydsTSB 09/09/2010
· Acknowledgement letter received dated 15/09/2010
· Decision letter received 18/09/2010 dated 17/09/2010 - UPHELD - £370
· Acceptance letter signed and posted 18/09/2010
· Opted for text alerts of progress
· Text received confirming receipt of acceptance slip dated 06/10/2010
· Acknowledgement letter of acceptance dated 20/10/2010
· Money received in my bank 25/10/2010
SANTANDER LOAN PPI
· MSE questionnaire sent to Santander 13/08/2010
· Acknowledgement letter received dated 27/08/2010
· Decision letter received 04/10/2010 dated 29/09/2010 – NOT UPHELD
· Letter to Financial Ombudsman Service 04/10/2010
· Acknowledgement letter received from FOS dated 22/10/2010
· Final decision received from FOS dated 09/12/2010 - NOT UPHELD
I was very impressed with LloydsTSB for getting back to me and paying me so quickly!!
Good luck to anyone looking to reclaim and well done to everyone who has been successful.
I've been reading the forums for a while now, so would like to say thank you for the help and inspiration you all provide
:TWell done on the successful claim and wishing you luck and fingers crossed for the others.:beer:Footiemad:footie: 2013 - SPC no.1147...Keeep potting!!

In Dec 2010 RBS refunded my payments and interest to the loan which I took out in 2003 which was £757.23 & £294.68 interest
2 Days ago I got back my premiums of £772.34 & £377.30 interest which they used to reduce my loan instead of crediting it to my bank account
Yesterday My bank account got Credited £4,210.56 which is the loan refund for my 1st loan which then got topped up in 2006 and they also paid £591.17 in interest, it could have been more but the RBS took of me £946.77 for the loan arrears
So all in all I managed to get back £7950.58 in paid premiums and it doesn't end there
My loan balance at the time was £14863.97 has now been reduced to £10625.54
This is what I call a succesful WIN :j:j:j
Many thanks to everyone from Martin Lewis for having the PPI letters that we can use on this site and to everyone one of you that took the time to answer my questions that I had.
While I started this fight with the RBS in March 2009, I would say to those who are still fighting, keep fighting to the end, YOU will get your money back as I have done
Now I am off to drink a well earned beer or two
Well thats a huge congrats to you and the beginning of a new year too... What a start. :T:T:T:TFootiemad:footie: 2013 - SPC no.1147...Keeep potting!!
