    Hi
I wondered if you could help me? I would really appreciate some advice. I took out a Barclaycard back in 1998 and think I completed the form that came with an unsolicited application form through the post. I do not recall ticking any boxes for protection insurance. As I havent used the card for a few years as I am desperately trying to pay off the card balance I have never noticed that I am paying for PPI. I noticed last month that the amount I am paying is around £50 per month - I have now cancelled the protection but would any of you recommend me to claim back the PPI that I have paid over the years. I was quite naive when I took the card out.

Any help or advice would be so appreciated especially as I am struggling (and now have 2 jobs).

    Thank you.

    Hi there

If you believe the ppi was mis sold to you then give it a go on the reclaiming with your reasons, you have nothing to lose.

Just complete the reclaiming questionnare as on link below "stage one of reclaiming" this replaced the template letter on this site.
Send it to the head office of whom set up your account and remember to keep copies of everything.

They normally have 8 weeks but may ask for more time.
    Good luck.

  • Followed Martins advice and contacted LLOYDS TSB to reclaim my mis-sold PPI on my credit card, and as expected, I was turned down.
So, continued to stage 2 and took my case to the Ombudsman. It took a lot of patience (about a year), and few letters to and fro, however, eventually LLOYDS TSB admitted that the PPI was mis-sold and paid me just over £1500!! :j

So, don't give up with your case.... these things sometimes take time.

Thanks for your advice Martin!

  • I received £491 from Lloyds in full and final settlement yesterday!! I had no idea what we were owed but didn't think it would be this much. It really only took a couple of letters and a bit of waiting time, just before Xmas Lloyds said our claim (along with everyone elses was on hold), but then a couple of weeks later they offered to settle our claim.

Thanks to everyone who helped :A

Good luck to everyone still claiming.
