Just a post to thank MSE forum members for their advice. I claimed against Lloyds TSB for two mis-sold loans, one taken out when I was a student and the other when I was effectively unemployed and bullied into taking out ppi by branch employee. Have been successful in both. Lloyds admitted mis-selling in first case and offered me ex-gratia payment in second. Great start to the new year! So glad I discovered this forum!

Again, many thanks and don't give up.

i first contacted the fscs on the 20th december last year about reclaiming ppi from picture loans.i recieved a questionaire from the fscs which i filled in and returned to them at the start of january.i had not heard anything from them but when i got up on friday morning the postman had posted me a cheque for 12,726.70.it was all worked out by the fscs it says they can only pay 90% of the full claim.me and the wife r just so happy we can now pay some of our debts off and start living again instead of just surviving.thank you to everyone on this site cause without reading everyones success on here i wouldnt have bothered.so for the cost of 1 phone call i got nearly 13k thank you all again.

Wow - huge congratulations to EP. What a result!

Just heard back from my own missold PPI claim on my AA Loan (Bank of Scotland) taken out in Feb 2005, due to be repaid in full in July 2011.

    Original Loan Amount: £8,000.00
    Interest on Loan: £1,050.40
    AA Creditcare Basic PPI: £1,600.00
Interest on AA Creditcare Basic PPI: £210.08
    Total Amount payable: £10,860.00
(APR was 5.8%, monthly repayments of £227.09)

Their reply stated that "We have decided to make you an ex-gratia offer to bring this matter to a speedy conclusion. We will ensure that you are put back to the same position you would have been in, had the single premium not been included with your loan."

I called them to confirm the details of this offer. Bank of Scotland have agreed to refund me the PPI amount, plus the interest accrued, plus compensation for inconvenience (I forget exactly how much this sum was when I spoke to the advisor earlier today). Basically I should be getting a cheque for just under £3k at some point later this week. :T My repayments will also drop to reflect the PPI premiums being taken out.

Update - I had completely forgotten that my claim actually covered 2 loans (one which was topped-up).

Luckily, RBS took this into account and in total my money back was closer to £5K. Received my last cheque last week. Amazing.

  • Followed Martins advice and contacted LLOYDS TSB to reclaim my mis-sold PPI on my credit card, and as expected, I was turned down.
So, continued to stage 2 and took my case to the Ombudsman. It took a lot of patience (about a year), and few letters to and fro, however, eventually LLOYDS TSB admitted that the PPI was mis-sold and paid me just over £1500!! :j

So, don't give up with your case.... these things sometimes take time.

Thanks for your advice Martin!

    Congratulations :beer::T:T
Its always worth having a go and whatever you get is a bonus and you now have your money back where it belongs in your pocket.:D
