At looooooooong last I am delighted to say that LTSB has repayed almost £9000 on CC PPI. This was definitely worth the wait. They did try to get out of paying the £200 payment for distress and inconvenience, but after them receiving an email from the FOS I have received a cheque for that amount also.

I would like to thank all the regulars (particularly the 'oldies') for the support, advice and encouragement that you give to all.
Also a big Thank You to the FOS for their work in helping me get retribution.

To all of you still in the process of claiming I say 'DON'T GIVE UP', my claim was with the FOS for just over 2yrs 6 mths but it was well worth the wait.

To be perfectly honest - I dont really understand what the court case is all about? Can someone very, very briefly clarify and is it looking likely that the consumer or the banks will be the winners of the outcome? I feel a little like I may have missed the boat on getting my money back.

Hiya, have you checked out the FSA link here

Also some details on the FOS website:

    Hope this helps.;)

    Hi kpwll,CONGRATULATIONS on your success!

I have a similar case with Lloyds regarding credit card PPI, I referred the matter to the FOS last August and received word back last week that they are going to uphold my complaint. With you having had first hand experience of dealings with Lloyds, what can I expect to happen now?
  • I wrote to EGG (RBS) in October 2010 and asked for my PPI payments back because I believed I'd been miss sold this insurance, after a couple of letters from them stalling any decision regarding a refund.....yesterday, 15th Feb I received a letter offering me £1,000.00 plus 8% interest – they state in the letter this is a one-off and final offer. They’ve not explained how they’ve come to this figure; but a thousand pound + 8% interest......I have decided to accept it because life is too short and should I reject it then I’ll could end up waiting over a year before any payment is made and there’s no guarantee of what that payment would be because I can't find out how any refund is being calculated.

Did RBS initially write back and say that they could not answer your case due to the on-going court case? If so, how did you respond to them or did you go direct to FOS?

    Many thanks in advance.
