  • I wonder if I could ask for some advice please, I have a credit card with Tesco which I have had for a number of years, it was only when I reached my limit that I realised I wasn't paying anything off each month ! The reason being the interest and the payment protection were more than my monthly direct debit, that was the first time I realised I had it, I called them and asked them to send me the original agreement which had a tick in the space, over the years I have had a lot of loans and credit cards and have never taken out insurance so why did I then ? To cut a long story short is it worth trying to reclaim? I have recently paid off some of this debt with another credit card , thanks for any advice.

    Hi Everyone
Thought i would just let you know, i have finally had a response from the Financial Ombusman re Yorkshire Bank loan. The Yorkshire Bank said no after months of backwards and forwards. so i sent it on to the Ombudsman in October last year, i had a call from them last Friday to say the Clydesdale bank have finally agreed to pay back the PPI. I am waiting now for a letter from them with the figure. This is the only bank i have had any problems getting the PPI back. I have had claims back from EGG, Barclays, Tesco, loans and also Barclaycard and Citi Card. In total to date i have had just over £7000 back.

    Thanks Martin
    Well done :j:j

Hi there, if you think you were mis sold this ppi, then look here
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
This will tell you all you need to know about reclaiming and the reasons you may have been mis sold. One thing to consider, if this ppi was on your account each month, they will argue that you should have realised this before now. On the other hand you have only just realised that you may have been mis sold this. send any letters recorded and give them 8 weeks to respond. Good luck with this and please keep us posted.

hi,just to say hsbc are still holding out on giving me an answer to my ppi claim, ive had another 2 letters saying still being investigated even though they said i would get a respone in my last letter but they havent said no,wonder if they are hanging on till the court hearing.

and my other ppi claim from egg looks like a success, got a letter from them saying my claim has been upheld & they will calculate how much they owe me,so i take it my next letter from them could well be a cheque :D
