Sorry I havent been about for a long time.. I hope all the regulars are in good health and happy.

I just wanted to keep you up to date. In 2009 we were awarded a refund of PPI for an Egg Loan + interest..very good news. However we did not have our loan recalculated so thanks to the advice on here I took it to the FOS in January 2010. They have been brilliant and in early December 2010 they got Egg to agree to 8% interest to be paid back, recalculate our loan and £200 compensation. I am hoping this will wipe out our loan and that will leave us £450 per month better off. I am still waiting to hear from Egg, hopefully it wont be too long now. I know the process is lengthy but it is worth pursuing your claim good luck. Thank you to all the encouragers on here you are shining lights. x
Welcome back :D:D:D:D and well done on your win  hope you do not wait too long

Happy to report a Lloyds TSB Credit Card PPI success.

Has taken two years through the FOS but received a cheque on Christmas Eve for twice the amount I was expecting, plus £200 compensation on top for inconvenience and distress.

Got to say the FOS were fantastic, always communicating, only a phone call away. They must be so busy to!

    Very happy with this result!
:j:j:j About time :D:D well done

    Congratulations MaxedOutKev,

I have a similar case going through with Lloyds TSB, would appreciate your advice.
I had a Lloyds TSB platinum credit card, over a period of 5 years I paid approx £5000 in PPI. I initally complained to Lloyds in August 2010, they responded saying there was nothing they could do, so I reported them to the FOS in Sept 2010. I haven't heard anything from them since! I speak to the FOS every month and they say that they are awaiting documents from Lloyds TSB and my case should be allocated an adjudicator in the next 2 weeks.
How long did it take between you contacting the FOS to the matter being resolved?

    Rgds

    Hi Ian

First of all good luck on your reclaiming.

I have had a few cases with Lloyds, both loan ppi and credit card ppi, even though the loan ppi cases were resolved directly by Lloyds, my credit card ppi case was resolved in the end by the FOS, however this was dealt with before I taken up the loan ppi complaints.

The FOS have very large volumes of complaints, so it can be difficult to predict a timescale, where some are resolved within a matter of weeks once passed on to an adjudicator, some can take about a year, or even longer in complexed cases.
Hope yours will be resolved very soon, please keep us posted.

    And the best of luck.;)

Good news , word back from FOS , RBS have agreed to settle . All premiums repaid plus 8% p a . This should amount to around £4500 . That is now two claims settled favourably , one to go .

Many thanks , absolute diamonds the lot of you .:T

I am afraid to say , the final claim has fallen . An adjudicator has deemed my complaint cannot be upheld .

This is on card protection , accepts that RBS may not have adequately explained the cost and benefits , but is not convinced that had they this would have affected my decision to purchase the cover .

Also , while recognising i received benefit from my employer , it was my responsibility to take this into account .

I believe , this can still be reviewed by an ombudsman ,

Would I be wasting my time?
