PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I am afraid to say , the final claim has fallen . An adjudicator has deemed my complaint cannot be upheld .
This is on card protection , accepts that RBS may not have adequately explained the cost and benefits , but is not convinced that had they this would have affected my decision to purchase the cover .
Also , while recognising i received benefit from my employer , it was my responsibility to take this into account .
I believe , this can still be reviewed by an ombudsman ,
Would I be wasting my time?
Hiya
OMG, so was this the one they originally said they would settle?#
And now this?
Normally after the adudicator have been dealing with your case, if your not happy you can go as far as the ombudsman and ask to have this reviewed.
I say go for it.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Di , no dont panic . Two different claims with RBS , one settled via the FOS favourably and this claim not so .
Letter on its way , seeking a review.0 -

Hi All,
Success at long last with Lloyds TSB PPI!:j. I sent the first complaint letter back in early Jan/Feb 2009. Took it to FOS in Oct 2009. Ruled in my favour Sept 2010. Just received letter saying they will pay back £3846 in the next 21 days!!!:j.
Don't give up and be patient you will get there in the end!
Much thanks to everyone on this board for help & encouragement especially Di.

I saw about PPI reclaim on breakfast TV and thought I may aswell find out about it. I contacted Nationwide who I had a personal loan and a credit card with and found out I WAS paying PPI and had been for several years! I had no idea I even had it so it must have been mis-sold to me as I am in a stable job with fully paid sick leave for 6 months, and my husband also earns a good wage and could cover the repayment cost should he need to. Had the PPI been explained to me there is no way I would have taken it out!
I sent off my claim in September 2010 fully expecting the claim to be rejected. I had a decision yesterday (12/01/11) saying both claims were successful and they would be repaying me a total of nearly £2500! I couldn't believe I didn't even have to fight it!
I have been telling all my friends - its DEFINITELY worthwhile doing! :beer:0 -

Thanks for replying :T
Took the loan Feb'08, Monthly repayment started April'08. 74 month repayment term from taking loan out. PPI cost £3698.64 with interest added.
I work out should be £1800ish refund with about £50/month reduction in the new loan repayment. Sound sort of right?
Just a wee bit concerned that i have to return a signed acceptance before they calculate the refund. Call me a cynic
Tried calling but no answer, will try again tomorrow.
£2059.92 deposited in my account today. You beauty! :T
Thanks MSE folks.0
