PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi All,
It's a while since I've been on here but just to say at the end of November Loans.co.uk upheld my claim for mis-selling of PPI on a loan I have with GE Money so many thanks for all the advice from everyone on this forum! I'm currently waiting on a settlement figure from them which when I called them last week they said should be v.soon (apparently they have to contact GE Money for a fig, then the actual insurers to enquire if I've claimed on it - which I haven't, then they also then have to work out interest!?)
Also, I currently have 2 further claims against Mint & Natwest credit cards which are being handled by RBS in Manchester; these seem to be taking an eternity! They wrote back to me at end Nov '10 after 4 weeks with the standard req for additional 4 weeks which would have taken them to 27th Dec but they are now well beyond that and I've been a bit of a thorn in their side calling them every few days but they keep telling me it's 'with a caseworker' and can't give me a definite timescale; in my last call on Wednesday last week I asked them if it was because of pending judicial review but they said that everybody who would be affected by that had already been informed - do you think they're stalling/is anybody else currently dealing with these? Also, When I mentioned the FOS they said that they would get it dealt with quicker than FOS would be able to! Am just a bit worried that I could have wasted additional 3-4 weeks when I perhaps could have already gone to FOS?
Anyway, many thanks again to everone0 -

Hi there
Hope your well.
Well done on your success - Congratulations!
That is just procedure with the insurers, so hopefully it won't take too long now, fingers crossed.
I know it can take some time with the FOS, with 2 ongoing cases of mine, they are being held due to the JR matter, not the same bank as yours though, I do have the right to take my case to the FOS now, but giving them a little longer, see what happens over the next few week, if nothing by then, I will then consider the FOS direction.
Hope you hear something of this one soon, now that you mentioned the FOS perhaps they will now budge, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I saw about PPI reclaim on breakfast TV and thought I may aswell find out about it. I contacted Nationwide who I had a personal loan and a credit card with and found out I WAS paying PPI and had been for several years! I had no idea I even had it so it must have been mis-sold to me as I am in a stable job with fully paid sick leave for 6 months, and my husband also earns a good wage and could cover the repayment cost should he need to. Had the PPI been explained to me there is no way I would have taken it out!
I sent off my claim in September 2010 fully expecting the claim to be rejected. I had a decision yesterday (12/01/11) saying both claims were successful and they would be repaying me a total of nearly £2500! I couldn't believe I didn't even have to fight it!
I have been telling all my friends - its DEFINITELY worthwhile doing!
Me again, just had a letter from RBS saying they will also refund my PPI on my mint credit card! Is only £120 but better in my pocket than theres!! :j0 -
Hi Everyone
Thought i would just let you know, i have finally had a response from the Financial Ombusman re Yorkshire Bank loan. The Yorkshire Bank said no after months of backwards and forwards. so i sent it on to the Ombudsman in October last year, i had a call from them last Friday to say the Clydesdale bank have finally agreed to pay back the PPI. I am waiting now for a letter from them with the figure. This is the only bank i have had any problems getting the PPI back. I have had claims back from EGG, Barclays, Tesco, loans and also Barclaycard and Citi Card. In total to date i have had just over £7000 back.
Thanks Martin0
