PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Good Morning fellow PPI'ers.
When I got home last night Egg had replied to our offer of acceptance via the Ombusdman, they had until the 8th of Feb to reply.
The ombudsman had withheld our complaint that when Egg refunded us the ppi from our loan they should have also included 8% interest and £200 compensation and loan recalculated.
Our refund therefore is
Interest on net payments at 8% simple interest (from the date of each loan repayment made) £1479
Additional compensation £200
Cheque attached to the letter for £1679
Our balance on the loan is £1841 so we just need to pay £162 and thats the loan clear, I cant tell you how overjoyed we are, this will save us £451 per month. Thank you all for your encouragment good advice and friendship0 -

Right as soon as lloyds receive your acceptance, if i remember correctly with mine it was about 21 straight days afterwards, but this may vary just a few days.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hello all
I have been reading through the site and have sent off my first ' template ' today regarding credit card late fees.
I know for a fact i have been paying PPI on the same card from around 2000 to 2009, when i cancelled the PPI after realising i was paying for something i didnt need! Im just after a bit of help before i start trying to claim.
Unfortunetly i have no records of when i took the credit card and i can only guess it was between 2000 and 2001 sometime. I have looked at the first template on the PPI guide and it looks like i need a bit of an idea of when i started. I still have the account and am well over the limit thanks to charges and being a bit of an idiot with my money in the past !
I was asked in my local Abbey National ( around 2000-2001 ) if i wanted a credit card and filled out a form. The account is with MBNA. I know that by the time i cancelled the PPI i was paying around £50 a month for it.
My point being - If i send off the 1st template asking for a copy of the agreement, will it in anyway show how long and how much PPI i have been paying ??
If not, is there a way of finding out ??
Sorry to bother anyone if its all very obvious, but im new to this and im just after some advice on the next step.
Thanks so much in advance.

I posted on this thread a few months ago, to say that I was very disappointed that the FOS Adjudicator had not upheld my PPI claim against Tesco, in relation to a credit card I have had with them for years.
Well, I went back to the Adjudicator with further reasons why I disagreed with her findings. Today, I have received a letter from the FOS saying that Tesco have now agreed to settle my complaint! :j
I have no idea how much I will be getting back, as Tesco have not yet calculated the figure. The FOS say though, that it wil be calculated using their suggested full recourse and that I will be put back in the position as if I had never had the PPI. I just hope that Tesco have records going back to 1998 (when I took out the card) and don't try and say they can only go back 6 years.
If anyone else is in a similar position and has had their complaint initially not upheld by the FOS, don't despair, you can still have a good outcome. Just try and be as detailed as possible in your counter-arguments.
Thanks to everyone on this site for the help and encouragement.0 -

Hi Tofty and welcome
As the account is still active then you can write a simple letter to ask them to provide you with a copy of the agreement by 12 days, and enclose £1 or cheque payment for this request.
This normally shows if PPI was ticked for, sometimes they are automated crossed or ticked for.
The other way for more details on your account would be to request a Subject Access Request (SAR) where they send you details of the account by 40 calendar days, but for this one you enclose £10 cheque or postal order.
There is a letter template for this on below link, tweak to your requirements if you want to or leave as it is, its up to you.

Hope this helps and the best of luck on your reclaiming.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
