I also forgot to mention, when you enclose £1, do this by either cheque or postal order, in order to request for the agreement.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0

Just a quick update on my PPI claim from Lombard (RBS). Wrote in April 2009 saying that I believed I was mis sold PPI on two loans (taken out in 1995 and 1997). Got the usual refusal to repay and so took it to the FOS in August 2009. They contacted me in Jan 2010 to say they were going to investigate but got nowhere. In October 2010 the case was passed to another adjudicator who called me in November and said that RBS would pay back the PPI + interest + 8%. I signed the acceptance form and rang to make sure they had received it and passed it on to RBS, who confirmed they had received it on November 23rd. As I really wanted the money before Christmas I emailed Stephen Hester who passed the message onto a very very nice man who chased it up and on Saturday I got a cheque for over £9000! It has been a long haul, although not as long as some. Don't give up no matter how long ago the loan was or how long it takes. Thank you to Martin and everyone else on this site who gives you the confidence to carry on. Merry Christmas!0

On Thursday of last week we finally received a cheque from Black Horse for £3100! This was more than we had expected by over £300! They had added in £200 for the distress caused and I don't beleive we could have done it without the support of this forum. Many thanks to all and a Merry Christmas!:T0

After following MSE's initial reclaim advice I contacted the FOS re my PPI with HBoS/
FOS said they'll look in to it in due course. Got a further letter from HBoS today saying they are making an ex-gratia offer to return me to the same position I'd've been in if no PPI was taken.
They say they will pay a refund plus interest with recalculation for a replacement loan without PPI.
Their letter did not state how much I'll be getting back. I assume this is all good news but just thought I'd check with you good folks here that I wont be getting shafted again! All seem in order?
