How many months did you pay the ppi?as you will get those monthly amounts back and the total ppi taken off your loan.

    Thanks for replying :T

Took the loan Feb'08, Monthly repayment started April'08. 74 month repayment term from taking loan out. PPI cost £3698.64 with interest added.

I work out should be £1800ish refund with about £50/month reduction in the new loan repayment. Sound sort of right?

Just a wee bit concerned that i have to return a signed acceptance before they calculate the refund. Call me a cynic :)
Tried calling but no answer, will try again tomorrow.

Hi there, roughly you are right (i am no good at calcs but you paid 33 months ppi that is 1650, if the 50 is the ppi monthly amount). Your loan is reduced by the monthly ppi amount and your loan balance reduces by the whole ppi amount. If you post the figures on here when you get them, someone will tell you if they are right or not. If they are wrong then you can contact the bank or fos and they will recalculate, as you did not have figures and just signed the acceptance form, so you have no worries there. So it is win win.

After following MSE's initial reclaim advice I contacted the FOS re my PPI with HBoS/

FOS said they'll look in to it in due course. Got a further letter from HBoS today saying they are making an ex-gratia offer to return me to the same position I'd've been in if no PPI was taken.

They say they will pay a refund plus interest with recalculation for a replacement loan without PPI.

Their letter did not state how much I'll be getting back. I assume this is all good news but just thought I'd check with you good folks here that I wont be getting shafted again! All seem in order?

Brilliant :T:j Well done on your success!:beer:Congrats:beer:

    Excellent. Thanks for the reassurance.
  • Good news , word back from FOS , RBS have agreed to settle . All premiums repaid plus 8% p a . This should amount to around £4500 . That is now two claims settled favourably , one to go .

Many thanks , absolute diamonds the lot of you .:T

  • Hi, firstly well done on all your wins :j:T:j

I was just wondering if I could ask you a quick question regarding how long it took for the FOS to resolve your claim. We put in our initial complaint at the beginning of September to Firstplus and have been fobbed off several times by them and now referred to the FOS - we've filled in the form and sent it off, but I noticed it says on here it can be 6 - 12 months before it is then resolved. Has this been your experience or is it generally slightly quicker (she said hopefully)

Happy New Year to all
  • Just heard from Tesco, they are upholding my ppi complaint re credit card and my acceptance letter was sent on 23rd Dec,
so just need to wait for letter

I know its not over until the money is in my account, but this has only taken since october.
They are still working on my loan.

Good start to the new year!!

    Ally xx

    Hi and welcome

Wishing you luck on your reclaim.

The FOS can take up to about 12 months, and if more complexed sometimes longer than that, with one of my own experiences it taken 14 - 15 months, but that was including being paid the refund as well in that time, but again it may not take that long either.
Fingers crossed, and all the best for the new coming year!
