I contacted the PPI Customer Care team and they confimed that it was only for the 1st policy as they are still to refund me for my 2nd policy.

An interesting side note however, I was informed that the EVIL TAXMAN got his hands on some of my money, I don't understand why I was taxed, I am a full time employee and I paid my taxes through my wages and what is credited to my bank account is my fully taxed wages which was then used to pay my loan.

Does anyone know why the taxman has grabbed some of my cash and what should I do about it?

Thanking you all again for your help folks, you are all the best

    Well done and Congratulations!

I would post about the Taxes side of it on another thread below, maybe Dunstonh will explain in detail, but I know what you mean.;)

  • Lloyds may be being slow as they are awaiting a ruling at the high court regarding outstanding claims and apparently are holding off dealing with early pipeline claims until the court has ruled

I know that ppi refund is taxed (if it takes you over your tax allowance) but you should inform the tax office and not the bank, this may be another way to make sure you have some taken from you. Someone who knows what this is all about will help with this i am sure.
Well done on your 2 wins :j:j:j:j

    Hi,
Just a quick message to say a HUGE thankyou to Martin & everyone on this thread offering great advice. I sent the pre-written letter to Alliance & Leicester / Santander regarding a loan I paid off in 2006. All I had as proof was a letter from them stating that I had paid it off in full etc so I didn't expect to be too succesful as I had no original loan documentation.
    BUT
Just recieved a phonecall from them to say they are refunding me over £3,000!!! :j
