    Hi newbie here

I wrote a letter to reclaim PPI on 30th October to Santander and I forgot to register it.

I phoned Santander on 7th December 2010 to ask if they had received it - they said they never but would take my details over the phone and let me know within a few days.

I received a call today to say my claim was successful and they will send me a cheque within a few days.

I owe this success to the forum.

  • I am seriously confused here, I won my complaint regarding my PPI that was missold and I noticed that the bank has credited me my money but here is what is confusing me

    PPI LOAN REFUND £757.23
    PPI INT REFUND £294.68

Add that up and it comes to a grand total of £1051.91

Last year when I contacted RBS to complain that I was missold 2 PPI policies I received a reply offering £750 for each policy which as you can see would come to a total of £1500 and I declined it, I am actually worse off winning my PPI complaint.

It looks as if I would have been better off if I accepted their fobbing off letter offer.

Can anyone shed any light as to why I am worse off?
  • after just seven weeks and the price of two stamps, received offer of full ppi payments.£2500,just a quick thank you to all on this great site, and good luck all who are still waiting.:j:j:j:j

it would be worth confirming that this offer/refund is for both or just for one, Lloyds tried that with me, ie only paying one.

let us know how you get on

    cheers
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free
  • Today 10/12/10 got the dreaded third letter response to the below, stating they had reviewed my case but due to the new FSA requirements in which customers complaints should be handled, they are unable to provide a final response, until the court decision and if I am unhappy with this outcome, that I may now ask the FOS to review my complaint.

Question is do I ? Or do I wait for the court decision, which I expect will go in favour of the banks. Plus I thought this government was getting rid of the FSA, I don't know who was worse GISC the FSA or the Banks! :(

    Any help appreciated.

I started my claim with F.P. on 11/10/10. Since then I have recieved two letters from F.P. one saying sorry to hear I wasn't happy with my PPI and they would investigate and get back to me by 10/11/10. A second letter turned up on the 11/11/10 saying they need to fully complete their investigation and will contact me by the 8/12/10.
What I want to know is this normal, or just a delaying tactic, plus is there anyway to speed up my claim.:(

    Hi there

And so sorry to hear this, it seems the main of them are using this as an excuse now and all that time wasted too, why on earth did they not confirm this to you earlier!

However, its now your decision from here, you can sit it out, or make the complaint to the FOS, its difficult to predict who will be quicker, but either way, good luck with this.;)
