Success on the front of PPI claim with Northern Rock! I sent a letter to them at the beginning of October along with the questionaire the FOS provides, got a letter back saying they would be in touch within 8 weeks, 4 weeks later a letter back saying they offer us back the PPI, interest, plus an additional 8%!! We are due to get a bank transfer for just over £6k any day!! Whoop!!!:j

Further to my above post... turns out we are still waiting on Northern Rock to issue the refund! Rang them today and they said they have a deadline of Friday to close the case at the Leeds office then they have to send it on to Newcastle for them to issue the refund/BACS payment which takes 5 days! Looks like it will be beans on toast and no Turkey Xmas day! :( What a long winded process, I wish I could get them to pull their fingers out!!

    Hi there

Hope they hurry and pay out soon, do you know who the Manager/Chief Exectutive Office (CEO) is of NR?
It maybe a good idea to contact them, tell them your in urgent need for your refund, good luck.;)

  • Hi everyone, I have posted on here before about my claim for 2 loans with Lloyds bank and how they had agreed one claim but had supposedly "overlooked" the other one. Out of the blue today I recieved a letter saying that they had agreed to the claim for this loan also, and there was an acceptance form to sign, also they were accepting that I had sent my claim for this on the 8th October 2010 . Im not getting too excited because I dont know when I will get my money but hopefully not too long as they have agreed the claim. I would just like to thank everyone on this forum for their help, whether it was in the form of a comment on my posts or just by the help and support I got from reading other peoples experiences. Well done all who have been successful and good luck and dont give up to those still waiting or just starting the process. Merry Christmas all

Hi there, well done on your win :j:j
Ask nr to do a bank transfer, to your bank. All my mis sells with these were paid through bacs, no waiting for a cheque to come, and then a week for it to clear. Give them a ring, they can only say yes or no!!.

Hi Patricia50 - I too have 2 claims with Lloyds. Both were submitted and acknowledged in writing on 28th September. My claims are both still being reviewed apparently, but wasn't holding out too much hope of them dong anything in the short term. Its encouraging however to hear that they've upheld your 2nd complaint and acknowledged receipt prior to 8th October. I make weekly calls to my complaint handler at LTSB but she's unable to give me any timeframe on when they might be able to respond!

I am seriously confused here, I won my complaint regarding my PPI that was missold and I noticed that the bank has credited me my money but here is what is confusing me

    PPI LOAN REFUND £757.23
    PPI INT REFUND £294.68

Add that up and it comes to a grand total of £1051.91

Last year when I contacted RBS to complain that I was missold 2 PPI policies I received a reply offering £750 for each policy which as you can see would come to a total of £1500 and I declined it, I am actually worse off winning my PPI complaint.

It looks as if I would have been better off if I accepted their fobbing off letter offer.

Can anyone shed any light as to why I am worse off?

it would be worth confirming that this offer/refund is for both or just for one, Lloyds tried that with me, ie only paying one.

let us know how you get on

    cheers

I contacted the PPI Customer Care team and they confimed that it was only for the 1st policy as they are still to refund me for my 2nd policy.

An interesting side note however, I was informed that the EVIL TAXMAN got his hands on some of my money, I don't understand why I was taxed, I am a full time employee and I paid my taxes through my wages and what is credited to my bank account is my fully taxed wages which was then used to pay my loan.

Does anyone know why the taxman has grabbed some of my cash and what should I do about it?

Thanking you all again for your help folks, you are all the best
