    Very many thanks for your advice. I know we had PPI with Britannia Building society for a mortgage taken out in 2004. Had a hard sell that the first 6 months would be free as an 'incentive' to take it out. We fell for it unfortunately. Did eventually cancel and sort out our own much cheaper insurance, but I have never bothered to claim the PPI back. I will send off one of the questionnaires as I do have the paperwork for this and see what happens.

    I don't recall any PPI on credit cards as they have been interest free and then paid off, although we did have an Egg card and reading this thread, they seem to be an offender. Also I am unsure about mortgage and car loan taken out with the Woolwich, now part of Barclays. Also, our very first mortgage was with Nat West, but that was in mid 1990's. I'm pretty sure we did take out PPI as was quite naive then - is this too far to go back?

    Thanks again.
    :)

    Hiya

    Your very welcome.

    Lots have still been successful from reclaims even going back from the 90's, no harm in trying.

    Good luck on your reclaiming.:)

    Would just like to say a big thank you!! Sent off my claim form I got from your website less than a week ago to Santander (prev A&L) for a loan we took out in 2001! Just received a phone call to say they are paying the full PPI back £1152 + £663 (8%) interest and the money will be in my account in less than 5 days!!

    I have had this paperwork ready to send for months and am now going to attempt reclaiming from Barclays but have heard they have recently put all their claims on hold? Is this true and should I still claim? Am gutted I didnt do this sooner but still £1815 is better than nothing......

    Thanks!

    Well done and Congratulations!:T:beer::j

    Yes continue to make a reclaim, and follow the usual procedures, if you hear nothing by 8 weeks then complain to the FOS, you can of course check this out with the FOS now if you want to and see what they suggest.

    Unfortunately there is a freeze until resolved on new complaints, but you can still continue as normal, don't hold back, good luck.;)

    Just thought I'd let everyone know - Given my history of being given incorrect and downright misleading information from LTSB Customer Care I rang them back this afternoon to check that what I was told this morning is correct. SURPRISE SURPRISE......despite being told by them this morning that the reprint of the Acceptance Slips is starting today and my letter will be sent out in the next week, this IS NOT THE CASE. I spoke with an Agent and a supervisor and they both said that Letters of Acceptance will not be sent out until the judicial review is complete......it looks as though its back to FOS again. These people are at best completely hopeless and at worst downright liars!

    Also I commented that I had not received the 4 week letter which their initial letter noting my claim referred to. The Agent said he'd send one out then the Supervisor said they won't be sending one out as they have already adjudicated on my claim so they are not obliged to do so. I asked to speak to Manager and after waiting on line for 10 minutes the Supervisor came back and said that the Manager didn't want to speak to me as they would be giving the same story as the Supervisor.....Finally some consistency!

    Hi

    Thanks for posting up.

    OMG what are they like!!!!:mad::mad:

    Hi there

    I agree its best to keep everything in writing.

    You could request for a SAR (Subject access Request), they have 40 calendar days to comply and send all the data they hold on the account going back at least the last 6 years.

    You enclose £10 cheque or postal order for this request and there is a template SAR letter here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

    As soon as this arrives then check it out, anything in relation of ppi should be enclosed.

    To make reclaim its just a matter of either writing a letter in your own words, or use the reclaiming questionnaire, this replaced the reclaiming letter, you then send to whoever set up and sold you the policy.
    Remember to keep copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to refer to this at some point.

    They normally have 8 weeks but if you hear nothing by then, complain to the fos, you can also do this if you don't receive a favourable decision in writing.

    Hope this helps, good luck.:)

  • Hi,
    I have made a claim to LTSB for missold PPI in August 2010. I received an offer to refund all monthly PPI payments made plus 8% interest via post on 28th September along with an acceptance slip to sign and return. I duly did this and returned it. I was told that it could take upto 28 days to receive my refund into my account. I am just wondering if the judicial review situation will now affect my claim as the 8th October seems to be the cut off date.

    Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Thanks
  • Hi i thought i would just to post my little saga with lloyds tsb , having read the forums on here i decided to put a claim in for 2 loans my partner and i had taken out in 2002 , 2005 with lloyds tsb. I have a lifelong condition and my hubby has a back condition. we both worked and took out the ppi on the at the same time as we had the loans having been told we needed it. The long and short of whats happened is quite shocking considering stories of lloyds... i sent an email stating why i wanted to claim ( pre-excisting medical con) and said i was very unhappy. was a short email stating my details and address.I also stated my partners claim. I got a reply the next day stating they would look into it. Approx 5 days later forms arrived which stated my claim and i signed and sent them back. heres the amazing part just a week later i received 2 letters in which they upheld my complaint and stated amounts and 8% interest would be paid into my account within 21 days. However i also read the payouts were put on hold so rang them . they said all payout where suspended untill further notice. :eek: However i would be paid but they didnt know when. i complained and said i would see about the ruling on that.However on monday i logged onto my online bank and heypresto just short of £900 paid into our accounts.:T What a result . so i can only say to anyone who has received a letter of award give them a call to ask for payment. it worked for me. no long winded letters ect just one email and a signature. Thank you all so much for posting on here we couldnt have done it without you .:money:
