Have been a lurker for over a year and plucked up the courage to start my first Lloyds claim in August after realising I had been mis-sold over and over and reading the encouraging messages from Di3004:T, amersall:T and robbed :T and all the other success stories.
First sent for a for a SAR (with a cheque) then after getting my info back completed the questionnaire and sent it off.
Got quite into it after the first one so sent off claims for another 2 loans one dating back to 2001. Didn't even send a questionnaire for Egg just sent an email through their online secure message system as they wrote back saying as the loan was paid off they didn't have to send the info (got my £10 SAR cheque back in the post today lol:rotfl:). It's not always easy and sometimes you have you have to be patient, but it is worth it.
So far in the last 2 months have banked over £12000 in PPI refunds and card charges and all for a few stamps and some persistence (rang/emailed Lloyds for the past 2 weeks until the money was paid:D).
Still have 2 with Barclays that were received before the hold was put on so are still being investigated (fingers crossed!).
We are going to have lovely break in Disneyland Paris next year and Xmas will be a debt free all because I decided to take a chance. Plus our debt has come down by a big chunk.
Sorry for rambling in my first (and prob last) post but if you are lurking and wondering :think:go for it or have started to reclaim and had a knockback:mad: keep going! You never know 'til you try...

Hi All,
I just wanted to share my success story with you.
I took a £10k loan from Natwest in 2005 with £2500 interest on 60 months repayment terms. The loan processor said to me I will stand a better chance for securing this loan if I also take £2600 PPI along with it. I was desperate so I fell for this trick. Now I was hooked for £10000 Loan + £2500 Loan interest + £2600 PPI. The bank was laughing its belly off and I was going to pay this loan off through my nose.
4 yours later, I asked the bank to cancel my PPI and refund every penny along with interest and compensation I had paid so far because the PPI had been sold off unfairly. They although cancelled it off, investigated the matter for next 6 months but refused to refund anything back to me and rather sent me all the paperwork stating I took the PPI myself even though I was told it was optional and it can be cancelled off within 14 days after the loan is approved etc.
I refused to accept this and asked them to reconsider their decision and refund the PPI premium or I will take them to the court. No response. I then decided to take them to the small county court. They passed on their case to their Barristers and my legal fight started with them. It went on for another 5 months and they failed to convince me PPI was sold legally. They were very heavy handed and tried to threaten me with hefty legal costs if I lost the case because they were sure of their win. I didn't back down so they decided to soften up their stance when I asked them to lets go to the hearing where they must present to the very person who processed my loan application so I could question her. It worked - they buckled down and offered me an out of court settlement if I also made a compromise with them. I decided to give up my interest and compensation claim and went for the actual PPI premium of £2600 I had paid to them.
They refunded it through their lawyers. Although it took me about an year to have my money back, but it was worth every penny. The bank failed to handle my complain well, wasted everyone's time and money and in the end paid my PPI and wasted their own cash on their lawyers that could have been saved if they initially understood the logic behind my initial complaint. Your must remember one thing - "Banks cannot afford losing a case in the courts and will always try to settle it out of court" if their usual threats do not work. This is their biggest weakness, but it is important for one to be strong minded and stand against their bullying behaviour.
You can only do better once you know your rights and take the game to their courtyard. I have learnt a big lesson from it - never give up to these bullies and blood suckers who are wearing the masks claiming to be working in our best interests because they are our friends. Its a complete lie and they are in fact living off the sweats of the masses. The bank managers are playing Golf, paying for top prostitutes and drinking Champagne and the account holders are working day in day out.0 -

Hi to all!!
Just thought I'd update you on my case now with FOS for reclaim of ppi from online credit card application with Egg in 2001.
Adjudicator will not change mind on decision against my claim. So have asked for it to go to an ombudsman. Also asked adjudicator for copy of evidence of me 'ticking' the ppi box apparently I can't have any copies of paperwork unless Egg agrees so have asked her to ask them pretty please !!!0 -

Hiya
Sorry to hear that.
I understand its more difficult on online applications.
Hopefully the ombudsman will see this in your favour, so any further information you may have - let them know.
Hope they supply what you require, afterall its your account.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks Di I certainly think this is a long shot but worth a chance!! Yeah I thought the same about the info from Egg. Keep you posted but adjudicator has said it could take a long time!!! x0
