Hi all, has anyony had any success with reclaiming ppi from central trust and did you have to take your complaint to the ombudsman:question:

    Hi there

I take it you have a reclaim of ppi to make against this company.
Was it these that actually set this up for you?
If so then you pursue these, you can do this by completing and sending the reclaiming questionnaire as below, remember to keep copies of all you send and receive in case you need to refer to this at some point.

Hopefully someone will post up who have had dealing with this company, good luck with this.

Just thought I would let you all know - Got a letter from Northern Rock yesterday with an offer for just short of £2500!:T
Full refund of all ppi premiums paid on a secured loan to date along with 8% interest.

Sent them my original complaint on 12/09/2010 using a pretty standard template from here modified to suit my case.
All I have heard from Northern Rock was an initial acknowledgement of my complaint & now their offer.
    Fantastic!
Thank you to all on here its a great source of information, help & inspiration.
I would not have even attempted this until I stumbled across this site looking for something else.

I have had a couple of knock backs recently (Amex & Lombard) and these are now with FOS and I was having my doubts but this result has given me renewed hope and I hope also others.

    :beer::beer:
    That is good news :T:T:T
Make sure your monthly payment goes down and the loan is still on the same term and apr.

Hi, am looking for some advice please. Have had a cold call from a company called 'Lifestyle Services'. Asking me lots of questions about credits cards over the years, loans and mortgages we've had. Made claims that they could get lots of money back for irregularities in any agreements, including just a spelling mistake, that could get £1000's refunded including interest. The catch was they wanted me to pay over £300 up front in order to get the 'legal' pack in the post which is fully refundable. They also take 30% cut from any monies returned. They claim they are regulated by Ministry of Justice.

Anyway, up shot of it is, I was not going to part with any money to a company I have never heard of before. I'm aware of PPI misselling, and do not take it out on any financial products now. Not sure if this was the case in the past though, but wouldn't know where to start.

    Any ideas gratefully received.

    Thanks.

    Hiya

Quite right too and good for you.:T
Right okay as you will be aware then there are many reasons for being mis sold ppi, so if you think you have reason to make a reclaim, go for it.

Check any documentation you may have, if you no longer have these you could request a SAR by enclosing £10 cheque or postal order, they have 40 calendar days to comply.
If you taken a loan/credit card etc out with your own bank, you just need to write your bank account number details on the SAR, they should enclose all the details of everything you have taken out with them for at least going back the last 6 years.
Sometimes they send data going back even further if they still hold them.
    SAR template letter here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

However, if any of the accounts are still active, you could try by writing a simple letter, enclose £1 cheque or postal order, and ask if they can supply a copy of the Agreement in relation to that account. Request they supply by 12-14 days as from date of your letter.

You can though, just as long as you have your reasons, continue to make a reclaim without any of the documentation, by just using the account number where you want to make the reclaim.

If you taken out any loans over the last 6 years and do online banking, normally the account number of that loan is shown next to the monthly loan repayments, online they should allow you to go back I think to the last 7- 8 years perhaps.

    Now on to the reclaiming.
You pursue the ones who set up the loan/arranged the policy from the start.
You can do this by either writing a letter in your own words, or complete the reclaiming questionnaire (the template letter was replaced by a questionnaire on this site), send to whoever responsible.
Keep copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to refer to it at some point.
You will find more details below.

    Hi and welcome

What year did you take out your loan Mike?

You could contact the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS) where many of us have had to go this direction for the same reason.
Give the FSCS a ring and ask if they are listed with them, if so they should then arrange to send out a claim form.

Meanwhile i will see if i can find any details, i'm sure they are listed with the fscs.

Very many thanks for your advice. I know we had PPI with Britannia Building society for a mortgage taken out in 2004. Had a hard sell that the first 6 months would be free as an 'incentive' to take it out. We fell for it unfortunately. Did eventually cancel and sort out our own much cheaper insurance, but I have never bothered to claim the PPI back. I will send off one of the questionnaires as I do have the paperwork for this and see what happens.

I don't recall any PPI on credit cards as they have been interest free and then paid off, although we did have an Egg card and reading this thread, they seem to be an offender. Also I am unsure about mortgage and car loan taken out with the Woolwich, now part of Barclays. Also, our very first mortgage was with Nat West, but that was in mid 1990's. I'm pretty sure we did take out PPI as was quite naive then - is this too far to go back?

    Thanks again.
    :)

  • Would just like to say a big thank you!! Sent off my claim form I got from your website less than a week ago to Santander (prev A&L) for a loan we took out in 2001! Just received a phone call to say they are paying the full PPI back £1152 + £663 (8%) interest and the money will be in my account in less than 5 days!!

I have had this paperwork ready to send for months and am now going to attempt reclaiming from Barclays but have heard they have recently put all their claims on hold? Is this true and should I still claim? Am gutted I didnt do this sooner but still £1815 is better than nothing......

    Thanks!

    Hiya

Fingers crossed then, please keep us informed, cheers.;)

Just thought I'd let everyone know - Given my history of being given incorrect and downright misleading information from LTSB Customer Care I rang them back this afternoon to check that what I was told this morning is correct. SURPRISE SURPRISE......despite being told by them this morning that the reprint of the Acceptance Slips is starting today and my letter will be sent out in the next week, this IS NOT THE CASE. I spoke with an Agent and a supervisor and they both said that Letters of Acceptance will not be sent out until the judicial review is complete......it looks as though its back to FOS again. These people are at best completely hopeless and at worst downright liars!

Also I commented that I had not received the 4 week letter which their initial letter noting my claim referred to. The Agent said he'd send one out then the Supervisor said they won't be sending one out as they have already adjudicated on my claim so they are not obliged to do so. I asked to speak to Manager and after waiting on line for 10 minutes the Supervisor came back and said that the Manager didn't want to speak to me as they would be giving the same story as the Supervisor.....Finally some consistency!
