We are in the process of reclaiming mis sold PPI on a Nationwide mortgage. We have had an acknowlegement letter. They have sent a letter requesting they make telephone contact to discuss the case. Do I provide a date and time to chat to a rep from Nationwide,?? eventhough I have sent the relevant questionaire or do we allow them to send us the final response in writting ?
What type of questions are they likely to ask over the phone?
any advice please0 -

Hi there
First of all good luck on your reclaiming.
I personally would not correspond by telephone and if this was me, I would be writing back to ask to correspond by writing and/or email instead.
Tell them this is your preferred method of contact.
If you have written correspondence, you have something to fall back on if needs to be, and if you need to make a complaint to the FOS.
If you do decide to speak to them on the phone, and they make an offer, again request for details in writing before you decide if your happy or not.
Its up to you of course, but at least you have something in black and white to fall back on if in writing.
Good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Blimey....really? Well done!
I am aware of success from the late 90's, that is very good to have been awarded that far back, good one!:TThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Well done Isabella!
I am a week or so behind you with the same people for the same thing.
Not heard anything yet other than a letter acknowledging my letter.
Lets hope I get a similar result !
Just thought I would let you all know - Got a letter from Northern Rock yesterday with an offer for just short of £2500!:T
Full refund of all ppi premiums paid on a secured loan to date along with 8% interest.
Sent them my original complaint on 12/09/2010 using a pretty standard template from here modified to suit my case.
All I have heard from Northern Rock was an initial acknowledgement of my complaint & now their offer.
Fantastic!
Thank you to all on here its a great source of information, help & inspiration.
I would not have even attempted this until I stumbled across this site looking for something else.
I have had a couple of knock backs recently (Amex & Lombard) and these are now with FOS and I was having my doubts but this result has given me renewed hope and I hope also others.

Hi there
Is you signed and accepted, after they already agreed with this, I am aware they should still be paying out.
I would contact the supervisor to make sure on this, it seems customers are being told all sorts, so do give them a call.
Scott Copsey (Supervisor) Tel No: 08453005599
And only those of brand new complaints from that stated date would be affected.
Good luck please keep us posted, cheers.;)
The Acceptance slip wasn't received by me despite several people at the Customer Care Centre telling me it had been sent and that a copy was also sent out. I rang this morning to find out what is going on and was told that the letter with the Acceptance slip has been added to the reprint run and the reprint run starts today. The Agent told me that she would expect I will receive the Slip within a week. Fingers crossed!0 -

Hi, am looking for some advice please. Have had a cold call from a company called 'Lifestyle Services'. Asking me lots of questions about credits cards over the years, loans and mortgages we've had. Made claims that they could get lots of money back for irregularities in any agreements, including just a spelling mistake, that could get £1000's refunded including interest. The catch was they wanted me to pay over £300 up front in order to get the 'legal' pack in the post which is fully refundable. They also take 30% cut from any monies returned. They claim they are regulated by Ministry of Justice.
Anyway, up shot of it is, I was not going to part with any money to a company I have never heard of before. I'm aware of PPI misselling, and do not take it out on any financial products now. Not sure if this was the case in the past though, but wouldn't know where to start.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks.
