PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Big success for me......Used Martins letters and, within a week of sending just the first one out to LLoyds-TSB, had an agreement to repay £2500 of PPI :j ....and then, once it had been paid into my account, i used a bit of it to pay off the loan! Wahooo!
Waiting on some credit cards - don't hold too much hope for these to be honest. Rejected straight out of hand so went down the Ombudsman route. More "If you don't try you don't know..." with these though really.
Fantastic, well done to you!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
The best part was using the refund to pay off the loan! :-D0

Hiya
A long haul this it seems doesn't it?
Yes I would contact the FOS/Adjudicator who have been dealing with this, and ask if you should contact the CEO, tell them you really need the refund for as soon as possible due to personal issues if this is the case. Hope they can chase this up for you.
They don't rush do they?
Good luck, please let us know what they say, thanks. X
Hi,
Emailed FOS after getting your reply but have heard nothing back. How long do you reckon I should leave it before trying again...don't want the adjudicator to get p****d off with me for pestering them. I am a little worried now that RBS will put my complaint on hold which seems a little unfair when I first contacted them last April!
On another note I requested an SAR from Capital Bank and sent a cheque for £10 which they cashed. Waited 40 days for a reply, then sent another letter giving them 7 days before I contacted the Information Commissioner to complain. Still heard nothing so contacted the commissioner (August) and have so far only received an acknowlegment letter. Do you know how long they should take to get Capital to send the SAR?
Once again the banks are happy to cash my cheque but not to give me the information I have paid for...I think I should start charging for all the post, stamps, phone calls etc etc!
Thanks for your help.0 -

Hi
Sorry this is not going anywhere, but I would keep at them to be honest, maybe leave it now though until early next week, afterall your bound to be concerned and they will or should understand that.
I would also chase the ICO up as well, 40 calendar days is what they are entitled to and that is what it should be.
It all adds up!
Keep at them. XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

'I got a letter from FOS dated 20 Sept to say Lloyds have agreed to make an offer '
That is the same date on my letter from FOS saying LTSB had agreed to settle. They appear to have agreed to settle quite a few lately but I'm still wondering if this is a delaying ploy by LTSB as mine has been in the queue for the Ombudsman since May.0 -
